It wouldn't go to the people running it either way. It's an investment so it's into the business
@SunlightGwyn2 ай бұрын
It does go to the people running it. I didn’t see this episode but if it’s like Shark Tank then the investors are buying percentages of the company. The owners that come on the show are usually asking the investors for money so they can reinvest it and grow their business. They COULD use the money they get from the investors on anything they want but the investors would like the owners to reinvest the money into the business. That’s what this guy was asking them to do. The problem is he was offering to buy 90% of the business which would make HIM the new owner of the business. It makes no sense to reinvest the money you got from selling 90% of your business back into that same business when you only own 10% of it. You effectively sold the business so they should take the money and run if they agreed to sell 90%. His plan would only make sense if he was asking for less than 50%.

At first I thought that he wanted to buy 90% of share from the woman, as in: the woman would sell him her share in an existing company and receive money herself. Instead, he basically “promised” to start his own business and have the woman finance 10% of it without any involvement.

If you’re not paying attention, jokes can sometimes fly over your head, but all in all I prefer more Eastern Television than Western. Ik nobody asked, but even with the low budget, and less flashy colors-Eastern television has stronger plots, than most Western programs. Here in America, it’s just rly flashy, and the plots only hold for a season or two at minimum-three to four seasons at best. Eventually, the plot falls through, and you’re left unfulfilled bc the show gets canceled with a cliffhanger. I didn't know you could call them out on it, I've sat next to people making these deals and as a person on the sideline you can kind of tell it's a winner-takes-all scenario 90% of the time. It usually takes 8 months of honeymoon feeling before they realize you were right in advising them not to sign. So to see the fellow dragons save that 8 months plus the business. It's quite unique, and may come from jealousy of the other dragons/sharks.

@sexobscura2 жыл бұрын
@Andrew Aydie I concur with your altruistic idealism (my terminology). Unfortunately human nature is all over the spectrum and greed/self-justification seems our most powerful incentive. Many millennia have sought a system of fairness/equilibrium that has worked for the shortest of terms before descending into a mire of beaurocratic self-interest. I wholeheartedly wish it were otherwise, but history is a repeatable offence

@Andrew Aydie capitalism is nature, its a free for all where its not that hard to get rich, especially if you're privileged enough to be born in America. If you dont like nature then you're welcome to die.
@solaire70462 жыл бұрын
@Andrew Aydie good luck with retiring from society dude, if you wanna live in the boonies thats on you. Humans are flawed and will always be flawed - thats a fact. What we have today is simply the natural result of human nature. You cant change that. Any utopian structure people try to come up with always neglects this crucial fact of human nature which is why things like communism simply wont work very well. The only thing we can do is implement small and beneficial adjustments in the law within a capitalist system, which is also what we are already doing. The world needs rich people and the world needs poor people. That's nature.
