@@sunkintree I never said otherwise. I hate bipartisan politics as a whole. I never said it was a left issue. It is an SJW issue. What I was pointing out is that the (fictional) concept of EQ and it being propped up as relevant in any way, and even worse: correlated with actual intelligence, is an SJW thing. Nobody likes being condescended to, nobody likes having their feelings hurt. But the world isn't nice sometimes, and sometimes the meanest, most arrogant asshole is also right. Sometimes the biggest dick is also the smartest person in the room. That's not a pleasant reality and nobody is happy about that. @InWitheNew

@@17thknight scoring extremely high on an internet IQ test and scoring high on a proctored IQ test are very different. There is a certain amount of bias, but it shouldn't really be perceivable with folks who understand all of the tested concepts (ex. pattern rec., math, logic, etc.). The people the tests are biased against don't usually take the tests because they grew up in places that don't have organized education systems.
@shanefrey

@@InWitheNew I has those proctored test once, it was extremely long. Like an hour and a half (I was told it'd be a quiz). I remember getting bored and frustrated by how random the question are. I got 120 something (I think 126? i'm not sure), I know it's pretty high but I'm actually pretty bad at math. I'm know i'm very good at reading people, detecting a pattern, and predicting human behavior. I'd like to think I have good common sense. And I'm just a little bit better than most when solving problems and thought organizing. But apart from this, I don't think I'm better than anyone. There's a lot of things I don't know and often need help with. I'm not that special so I think IQ make very little different when it comes to living life in the real world.

IQ tests are only BS if you don’t know what they’re measuring. They measure rate of learning roughly. You can learn fast and not give a shit about tests. Other people can be slow learners but very hard workers. Some other people are more creative and might be better at problem solving as a result. IQ is not a measure of someone’s worth as a human being. Unfortuantely, the vast amount of people who object to the validity of an IQ test, be they high scorers or low, often are implying that that’s what it purports to measure

this quote seems dumb out of date. Who other than completely narcissistic people in general would go around acting like they know everything just because they have a PhD? This feels like something dumb people say about people who go to college. The quote is talking about such a cliché type of person you'd see in a movie. I don't go around thinking all farmers just have sex with their animals because they have easy access to them. Why even bother saying just because you have a PhD doesn't mean you suddenly know everything, that goes without saying. What im getting at is this chick is obviously a narcissist who is probably very good at understanding things regarding the field her PhD is in. She just so happens to equate that PhD to her overall intelligence, that doesn't mean most people who get a PhD act like her. If anything, someone who has a PhD in a certain field would know not to speak on things they have no real fundamental understanding of. This curb style vid was made to make fun of someone who thought they were super smart because of going to college, in actuality this is just a very narcissist person being made fun of for a video on KZfaq. You know she has no clue what she is talking about when she relates body language to intelligence. Edit: I should clarify that I’m talking about HER specifically in this situation. The way that she determines the individuals intelligence based on his body language is very hypocritical, seeing as she acts like a twelve year old; meanwhile, the guy is being quite formal.
