Best advice I have for scrappers...esp new ones. Be personable with people. I recently saw some pipes sitting on a porch of a house being renovated. No one was working at the time. Saw a notice on the door and got the new owners name and address. I drove to his house which was only 5 mins away. I introduced myself and told him I scrap and was wondering about the pipes on the porch. He said take it. Take any of the metal in the back yard. Also helped his brother in law bring down a cast iron tub that they cut into 3 pieces. I scrapped this too. Then he said he had another property close by. A property I had seen a huge stack of pipes in back yard overgrown. I just did not know who owned it. He said he would get the brush cut away and I could take all the pipe, copper included. Well the day came. He sent me down and i spent about a total of 5 hrs cutting the pipe down to fit in my truck. Included was close to 250 lbs of copper. About $50 in old insulated wire. Bunch of brass fittings. I estimated that I made about $1100 in that 5 hr time frame. What is even better. He has other properties for me to haul the metal away from!!!

You can always put tailgate down and put dryer on it. Obv just use a cpl straps to secure it. Also i use foldable mattress base for the iside of the truck as sides. Allows me to put much more into my Ford Ranger. I keep at least 10 ratchet straps with me.

Man,, i wish we had bulk trash week. I'd pick up everything! I understand having limited space! I've actually been thinking about traveling to nearby towns on weekends to try picking up stuff !
