Hands down my favorite surrealist and one of my favorite painters in any genre.

I have found the best way (for me) to view a Magritte work is by my gut reaction. The objects are metaphorical, and beyond reality. Concepts in a shroud of mystery to be explored not defined. I have always enjoyed his work. Thank you for this short documentary. It was well done. Next maybe Max Ernst.

Great approach! Love how you seek to explore these concepts rather than define them. Thank you for watching this video! 😍

I love this artist, I visited the Magriite Museum in Brussels and did not want to leave!

I love it when artists leave interpretation up to the viewer. It is what it needs to be at any given moment for any emotion the audience may be feeling. Hello Kitty.

Magritte was is forever as a revealer who opens a door into marvel(s); there’s never been any day in my life that I did not think Master Magritte was a (personal) friend

This video brings back my first encounter with Golconde. It gave me a super unfamiliar feeling, indeed.😲☺ It looks like Magritte always used everyday objects, no more, for his paintings, and yet he always seems to have ended up defamiliarizing them all, while still making you feel like you are living in reality. Maybe that partly earned him recognition as a genius painter. 🤔

The world is a physical representation of our collective minds. Magritte is reminding us that the world we perceive is constructed nominally and “the screen” of reality can be experienced without physicalist constraints.

TFW you realize the voice you're listening to is a artificial because it said "one of a king" instead of "one of a kind."

Interesting! Magritte can make you think. He is right that the painted pipe is not a real pipe.
@CuriousMuse Жыл бұрын
Indeed. Are there any particular artworks by Magritte you like?
@Catlily5 Жыл бұрын
@@CuriousMuse I like various ones with a silhouette of a bird with blue sky and clouds inside, silhouettes of a man with a nature scene inside and the train coming out of a fireplace. The pipe I mentioned above is clever as well.

I like Magritte on a superficial level and his play with irony but I’m not sure of it affects me deeper than that. Maybe it does 🤷♂️

I never like it when people try to explain surrealist art. For me surrealism is similar to escapism. A world without mundane and absurd logics. It teaches us how to go beyond the boundaries of languages and explainations.
