What a nice cut and style on this young man. I'm just reminded of my old hair days when I was a professional hairstylist in the 80s and 90s. I had a couple of male clients who always wanted trendy haircuts. This style just reminded me of those guys. Great work sir! This young man has really nice texture and density in his hair by the way.

I like the back and sides a lot. The top, especially in the front, looks a bit damaged. This might just be a trick of the light, but the split ends looked deep. I would have liked to have seen about 25% of the top trimmed off just to get into healthier hair. It would have still be long and a high side contrast.

Yeah, but as professionals we have to do first what our clients ask us to do. We can give a guidance to the client but at the end it's their choice. This guy wanted to keep his length on top 🤷‍♂️

He's probably mostly barbering but some barber schools teach the styling and chemical part of doing hair as well. I just want to say congrats on going to Cosmetology school. You will find it very enjoyable, especially if you are passionate about it. I went and graduated from Cosmetology school in the 80s . I worked professionally for over 25 years. I truly loved it. I'm now retired from it but I still do my partner's hair. He enjoys the luxury of me pampering him.

If I use a clipper guard, say for instance a number 2. Is there no way I can cut it any short obviously by mistake? I'm frightened whilst cutting that ill some how cut it shorter then I need. Cheers

Make sure it's on proper, you'll be fine promise

Just make sure it is a guard number 2, and not 2mm for example. And as Thomas said make sure its on correctly and no you shouldn't go any shorter than the guard length. The biggest danger is just making sure you don't go too high. For example if you want a #2 on the sides but not the top. Be sure to not go too high with it
