Loved this video! I've also had some really bad experiences with products off amazon ugh. I have to tell you that my friend introduced me to this face oil from a brand called Brush on Block. I hadn't heard of them before, but the seem to specialize in sunscreens - but they make this face oil that is a blend of oils (vitmain c, jojoba, gotu, etc). I haven't seen a product like this before, I use it at night espeically now in the winter and I wake up so nice and dewy...was curious if you had ever tried it? or what your thoughts are! Also they're a clean beauty brand.

As a former esthetician I have wanted to try natural lines many times over the years and ironically they have always disappointed me and caused me irritation and headaches. Highly fragranced with either perfume or essential oils. I continue to go back to medical grade or skincare I know works because of clinical research.

@@LifeDIY I’m a huge fan of pretty much all of the platinum skincare products. I know that sounds crazy but have tried so many of there products and I love them all. I use their lactic and glycolic wash. Regenerate and grape stem cell serum. I love there retinol and serum 30. There eye cream is a fav of mine as well. And I also get there potion combo of 4. And there emu oil is a must for face and body. That’s by far my favorite product. Soft and supple skin. Like I said I love all there products.

I recently started using La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser and I really love it. It seems like nearly all cleansers strip/dehydrate my skin (even Vanicream is too drying) or the ones that don't also don't cleanse well enough. This strikes a perfect balance of removing my SPF and makeup without drying my skin out at all. I avoid oil cleansers because I also find them drying (Good Molecules Instant Cleansing Balm is great, though!). I also really like the Pipette SPF. I'm glad they're making it again.

What do you think about training the muscles of the Face to limit the loss of muscles in Face ? Also do you tackle or plan to tackle the Probleme of fat Distribution in Face changing with âge ? I’ve heard that skincare can help to maintain a youthfull Skin but can’t help with saggy face or fat distribution, but people your age already have saggy faces Even people in their thirties look saggy from my younger Point of View but Your Face is Not saggy at all Not Even a Bit, i would say that maybe you don’t have the « fat Distribution » of very Young person but You’re definitly not saggy and i wonder if you have advices about this topic as i’ve always heard skincare can’t do nothing against that?(Sorry for my english)

Very interesting questions! I think I might not be having this issue as I am very thin now. A long time ago I was posting youtube videos when I was younger or in my 20s and I can see that I weighed more and had more fat on the face, which made me look probably way younger. So I am not sure, as I don't have excess fat on the face. I am assuming as hormones change for females, that even if you're thin, there will be some sagging skin. The only thing I can think of for prevention is to keep an eye on the hormones and possibly do hormone replacement when it's needed, and maybe that will help prevent that sagging from getting really bad? I am not totally sure. I was just watching a video yesterday from a doctor, talking about the benefits of a prescription estrogen cream being applied to the face during that time when a female is starting to have hormone issues (early 40s). For men, I am not sure if testosterone has a similar impact on skin and skin aging. I do know that many men have issues with their hormones too, and it could maybe help to supplement. You should check out the video I watched - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gKdokpl6qcm0c30.html - because in addition to the doctor mentioning that estrogen cream on the face helped (improved skin thickness), he also said that the study he was citing showed that glycolic acid cream did the same thing, and worked even a little better. I'm a huge fan of using glycolic and other chemical peels on the face, to keep the youthful skin. So, that's what I've been doing over the years.

I was just thinking about you. And here you go making a video about the very thing that made me think of you when I saw on of Claudia‘s most recent videos. Have you ever tried the SOONSU 35% TCA SHINING PEEL? It’s supposed to be pain-free, and without the intense flaking. But I just cannot fail them how it could be as effective as a true traditional TCA peel. I would love to see you test it and do a video reporting your experience.
@LifeDIY

Aww thank you! I have never tried that peel, but I have the product page open in a new window. I feel the exact same way as you - I don't think it will be effective like a true TCA peel. I wish the site would share the pH level. But, I am very curious and I could get it (or a similar product) and share my honest experience with it compared to a TCA peel. I really think the low PH of peels makes a huge difference in effectiveness.

Hi Holly 😊, I love your videos about skincare, we are the same age so I can follow your results and get inspired. I have been using trettinoin 0,1 in 3years and experimented with glycolic acid 35%. This is what my skin loves the most - 1th day trettinoin, 2nd day calming and moistruising, 3-day C vitamin , 4- day niacinamide ( this ingedient I introduced to my skin recently and I can recommend Nacomi 15% niacinamide ) - my skin looks amazing after this produkt. Today I ordered glycolic sleep mask 10% from Medik 8- yes, little bit pricy 🥴 but I cannot imagine to use glycolic peel 35% with my currently skincare rutin and don’t want to give up with glycolic , hopefully it will work for me … 🤗🤗🤗

Thank you so much for sharing this! You've got things down really well - with such a good routine, especially if it's working really well for you. I totally understand about the glycolic situation. It's harder to use when you're regularly using tretinoin, but a lower strength is a great idea!

I love your skin care videos and to see what you're using. It seems so many other KZfaqrs are trying to push their 'natural' routine when it's obvious they've had Botox or other injectables. Are you doing any retinols? I'm in my 40s now, but there are so many side effects with the tretinoin (I think you addressed this in another video, but I can't remember what you said?). There are a lot of great products on Etsy that I like. I just bought something called marrow skin cream for a moisturizer, and it's awesome. There's another company called Shine that has some great ingredients, but I haven't bought anything yet. Enchanted Waters is another good one. I'm not connected to any of these, just sharing. 🙂

Thanks, Lauren! Hahah yeah you made me think of some videos I've watched where someone is showing how to make your lips look fuller with makeup, when they've had a lot of injections done in the lips. So, that is just confusing! We live in really weird times though. I'm amazed you're in your 40s too, as you look more like you're in your 20s. I also have had issues with tretinoin side effects. I've never been a huge fan and I've been suspicious of the intense level of marketing tretinoin where everyone says it's the "gold standard," but very few share the science and any updated research. I was so interested in this that I paid a professional researcher to find the entire history of tretinoin and retinols, so I can understand it and do a video on it in the future. Some of its backstory is just crazy. But, overall, from the full research I've seen, I'm not super interested and I'm also not against it. I'm assuming it may help in some ways, but it's overly hyped. I really find chemical peels to be extremely effective for me, but they are less profitable for others to promote. Thank you so much for sharing some recommendations from Etsy. The skin cream you mentioned sounds great! Do you use it on your face? I am amazed there are only 2 ingredients in it! I'm buying it and checking out your other recommendations. Thanks so much for sharing all of the recommendations. :)

I know you enjoy everything skin health so I wanted to pass along the name of a certain bath salts called Alkabath. I didn’t get it for my skin but I can see and feel the impact it has on it. Also, if you didn’t know, nutritionalfacts(KZfaq channel) has a newer series on skin health that covers the science behind things such as vitamin C, retinoids, niacinamide, ect. I’m sure more will be added to the list soon. I’m guessing they were covered in his latest book ‘How Not To Age’ that was released last month. It too seems like a really good scientifically vetted resource to have on hand. Thanks for sharing all your discoveries with the rest of us!

How often do u use the glycolic mask?
@LifeDIY
@LifeDIY 2 ай бұрын
Well, people can use it once weekly and that shouldn't cause any problems at all. You just have to be careful if you're using retinols or tretinoin. I just use it here and there, sometimes once a month. But, if I was trying to improve the appearance of my skin and have it look a lot better, I'd probably use it more often. I've just been busy lately. :)

That is so great to hear! I love making products at home too. :) Your Turmeric soap sounds amazing. And, that's so great you're sewing too and making fragrances. I love sewing. I used to post a lot of projects on Instructables, but have not had much free time lately due to work. A few years ago I planned to create a haircare product (treatment mask for dry hair) and so I ended up buying a ton of ingredients for product formulation for haircare and skincare at that time. And, I had some good experiences from working with a formulator - as I was doing the test batches at home based on his recipes and instructions. I never thought I could do it (as I tried years ago) and it seemed quite complicated and you have to be super precise with the ingredients and temperatures. But, my son and I did and made numerous hair products. I had a very, very particular product that I was trying to make and we never managed to get it just right, so I kind of moved on from that for now at least. There's so much competition for any haircare or skincare products, so if you make something to sell, it really has to stand out. So, maybe I'll try again on that someday. That's kind of the story behind why I have so many ingredients now. :)
@KyanasTube
@KyanasTube 6 ай бұрын
@@LifeDIY Oh Holly, you have to release a product, any product! Let me be the first to say that I would buy anything you put out for hair or skin. It sounds like you really understand the skincare industry and what it takes to develop a well-rounded product that really works. So cool how you've worked with a formulator, you must've been very serious about it. I've come to terms that with formulating, there very well may always be something that could be improved upon in any formula. Those trials, tweaks, and all that time, are really what leads to an outstanding product! I have struggled with dry hair and skin for most of my life. The dryness has improved considerably since changing my diet, revamping my routine and making my own/ trying new products. I do still suffer with some dryness and would really appreciate a product that is dedicated to hydrating dry/brittle hair. I recently got into really massaging my scalp (until it's tender) with oil before washing and I think thats really been helping with my dry scalp. If you're still making products, I would love to test them out for you! I love having so many ingredients handy and formulating on a whim. It's also made me a lot smarter about reading other products ingredients lists. I adore a well thought out ingredients list with impactful active ingredients 😍 :) Also yeah I just bought a serger and it's really been a game changer!

I have used some peptides and growth factors and vitamin C, but I don't currently have a good vitamin C product. If you have any recommendations for any of these things, please feel free to share them! I want to do some more research on peptides as I am using a peptide serum at the moment. It's clear that she was the girl almost every boy was in love with at school. It must not have been easy for her either, knowing that those boys might never come across someone they'd love as much as her.

hello hello, looking great as always i see the sweet and fake smell you are talking about, well our sense of smell, taste and vision helps us distinguish between poisonous things and edible things. bottom line is : the companies skimped out on the fragrances. it's not necessarily a bad smell but because your brain immediately identifies it as poison, it makes you want to get away from it. getting away from "the poison" becomes a priority, thus your subconscious mind cranks up the cortisol levels and certain hormones that make a shift in your priorities. what ever you are doing becomes less important and your instinctual priority makes you want to get away from "poisonous things. your sentient mind tries to fight it off since you realize that you are not in immediate danger. and this process affects your ability to focus. anyway, i just woke up... i need more sleep. i started Christmas a bit too early this year, and i've been binge drinking for over a month now. i am now in "recovery mode" which means eat-sleep/sleep-eat. and look at kipper sitting there in that chair😂

Hello hello! Good point about the sense of smell and instincts. It seems like younger people don't often have these issues with scents, or it at least seems less common. And, I hope you recover quickly - that sounds horrible! Nice that you noticed Kipper over there. I should have showed him more in the video. He's always hanging out by me nowadays.

@@LifeDIY oh don't worry about it, the only thing terrible is the hangover. i had fun, lol. anyway, idk if young ppl are not bothered by certain smells. i mean i knew this guy years ago was a teen, he bought some of those smuggled perfumes.... long story but it was like 3 bucks for a 150 ml bottle, lol. oh it was vile😂 i mean at one point i'd rather smell b.o. than that😂so it did bothered me, even if i was a teen,lol. and leeel, the cat loves you Holly. usually cats love their owners but are not always comfortable sitting around the owner. idk cats are cats, and need their space. so if this one hangs around you then it adores you. well... that and... is kipper ok ? like... energy wise ? idk might be something wrong with him, does he purr all the time ? purring is not only for when cats feel ok, it's also a sign that something might be wrong. the resonance of the purring sound is actually healing... both for the cat but also for the owner, sometimes if the cat feels you are tired or something they will sit on you and purr for you, lol. btw, the frequency of their purring is thought to have benefits. i mean... nature does not really have redundancies. and laugh as you will but i had a back injury a while back (lifted heavy stuff) and as i was sitting on my belly in bed. the cat from the apartment where i was living at that time came and sat exactly at the base of my spine and started to purr. i mean it did not heal me miraculously, but it did sort of relieved my pain and felt pleasant instead of the back pain i had.... and fell asleep, lol. so idk, it's... interesting to say the least. and no i am not crazy, i know cats can't heal and stuff, but i am just saying. it's... an interesting thing with their purring. anyway, is kipper ok energy wise?
