In today's video I make my way over to EPCOT at Walt Disney World for a exciting park update. I take you around the entire park to show you everything that is currently happening in the month of October 2023 and what you can expect for the rest of the year. A few big highlights include Moana Journey of Water, Soarin Over California, the new figment meet and greet, Cosmic Rewind and a pretty big let down from Disney. I’ve read things online about the virtual glitch happening. I hope that Disney will fix this issue for future guests who pays an arm and a leg to be there! I agree the boarding groups need to go away for good

Hey Dev, I could not agree more. I was at Epcot on Monday. On my phone all day getting virtual ques for guardians and moana. My moana que vanished on my phone at the 60 minute mark. The guardians que I made at 1 PM set me at 8:59 PM. 1 minute before closing. I love Disney but I am really done with the phone thing. My Universal pass gets me Express after 4 PM. No setting times and being on the phone. I just go and enjoy. Disney really needs to take a page out of Universal`s playbook!

Yes, no doubt Universal is THE BEST at customer relations and giving the customer a stress-free vacation. Disney is to proud to come up with a system that even resembles Universal's Express Pass!

Try and go the ummm... Those people that are at a kiosk under an umbrella around the park, those people you can go to when you have issues, because... It's not virtual queue-related, but I had a reservation for Ratatouille at a certain time, and then it vanished or something, and they were able to just put me back on the lightning lane for it under no certain time, and that I could enter the lightning lane line whenever i got ready and i went and got on. Try to see if those people can help next time, but for your virtual queue and see if they can help. Because they have the app and were able to go in under their app put me back in lightning lane on on their end

PC Dev, thanks for the updates and showing us all the New Epcot. Yes, vitual ques why? Over $100 to enter and then still have to pay to ride. No wonder people have stopped coming and Epcot is almost like walking around Disney Springs, you walk to buy food... and just a few rides.

It would be cool if soarin’ had a randomized trips similar to star tours. I believe there are dozens of combinations of experiences on there. Maybe not that many here, but would be cool to see other different parts of the world

Supply and demand, that's what it comes down to in the end. When Frozen Ever After first opened, the standby wait was through the rough due to popular demand. Disney even began handing out free water to those who had been waiting a while to keep them hydrated. Disney then learned their lesson from that incident when Rise of the Resistance first opened, by bringing in a virtual queue to help them cope better with demand. But even when they scrapped the virtual queue for ROTS the standby queue for that ride led all the way to not far from the main entrance into HS I believe. That's why they have these systems in place

One thing I'd like to mention as we last went to Disney back in August after 4 years of not going there. When you say: Oh, the park doesn't look busy, but the wait time are extremely high it is because of Lighting Lane. This system has made regular lines SO much longer for those not payment extra for LL. Multiple times you'd see a posted time of 70 min for an attraction and once you get in line you can see that the physical line is not that long. But they stop the regular line constantly for LL to enter. So, if you're not willing to pay extra for LL be sure you'll be upset in some lines, waiting longer than normal, seeing those who dish the extra bucks passing. And if you say something you may get a "I can't stop their line, they are paying" from a cast member as we did like we were there for free.

Yet on our most recent visit (we’ve been dozens of times over 30+ years) we timed the wait lines to compare to the posted times.. They were consistently wrong by about 20/25 minutes with a couple of times over 40 minutes, in our favour.. We decided they increased the time show in the hope more folk (fools) would pay for Genie + and LL.. For G+ read “money grab”😉😉

Hey Dev. I know you said you used to love meeting characters. You have the best interactions with characters that I’ve seen. Maybe it’s because you used to hang out with them? You seem to know what to say and the interactions were never awkward. I am super awkward with them but love to see them even if I don’t always interact with them. Great video. On the no boarding group for journey of water, always take screenshots. Saved me a few times. Moana is a walkthrough so it really doesn't need virtual queue tbh

I'm over them too Dev. I'm also over paying for Genie + and extra for other individual LL. We need the complimentary fastpass service back as well as Magical Express, airline check in and the Main Street Electrical Parade. Oh and no more Park Reservations for APs.

$20 for 2 petite fillets and some potatoes isn't terrible. That's a third of the price of Le cellieur 😂 I always have to hit up that food booth. Braised beef poutine is always good as well.

Disney needs to rethink several things regarding rides. We land at 7pm. Got to stay up until midnight to buy genie plus. Why? Why can’t I buy it at least 24 hours or more prior to arrival. Then I have to get up before 7am to book one ride. One? They seem to have figured out the software for dining reservations where you can pick morning, noon or night time hours and then select the times that are available. Why not for rides? I guess Disney never heard of the KISS principle.

Universal and the locker thing for every ride is annoying. I did a 4 day weekend trip beginning of September. Did Epcot/MK then Universal and IoA with Halloween horror nights. Universal just feels like a more expensive carowinds. Such a warm and fuzzy feeling when at Disney.

I would have rather waited for hours than to be in the park longer than you wanted to waiting to see when you can ride. I started to walk out on my reservation for the ride it was getting late and I had been there for over 8 hours already. It’s not that much to do at Epcot to want to be there for 8+ hours.

I am sorry about the VQ incident. We always take screen shots to show we have a VQ or LL. We missed out during our last, sadly but we will back! I agree with the price increases at the F&W Festival. We do love and get the filet!!

Dev we are just back from Disney we did 10 days parks staying at a resort and 6 days on a Disney cruise. This is our 1st trip back since covid (traveling from Ireland) and I 💯 agree I felt like you had to be on your phone to plan your day and it pissed me off so I didn’t do it as i wanted to be in the moment. But then I missed out on virtual queues for TRON and Guardians! Bring back old fashioned Disney with just fast passes and booking them 60 days out so you can actually enjoy your time at the parks.

I just went to Epcot not too long ago and I’m really surprised about the lack of aquarium content. I was shocked to see such a huge and beautiful aquarium and I had no idea it was there. I wonder if others feel the same

Funny thing, I think they have the biggest tanks and fish creatures in all of Florida beating SeaWorld and the Florida Aquarium. Personally I think the Florida Aquarium is better.

Do the seats move on Soarin? Or is it like one of those theaters where the screen is so big it makes you feel like you're in the movie (but without the seats moving) if my question makes sense? I have motion sickness so I've never wanted to get on it. But I if the seats don't move DURING the ride , then I'll get on it next time

I think you will be fine if you ride it. Seats are stationary but at times have a very slight 'swing'.

The app crashed on Sunday when I was at Magic Kingdom and I wasn’t able to ride Tron and Seven Dwarfs which were the two rides I wanted to get on the most. I’m from California so I don’t know if I will ever be back.

Tbh I've NEVER been to Epcot if I was not performing or chaperoning a field trip for my kids. So I never got to experience ANYTHING Epcot has to offer. I'm thinking about me and my bf going sometime in before the end of the year. My bf says that all he remembers about Epcot is the educational aspect of it. However he's a big foodie but doesn't want to admit it. 😂😂😂😂 So I'm thinking food!!

At least if you are waiting in the stand by you know that your going to get on, the virtual que you don’t know when your going to get on or if. I hated wait round the park especially Epcot ALL day long to get on a ride and you can’t even park hop because you don’t know when you are going to get called.

After 9 years of being an annual passholder .. My family and I will not renew. Instead we will save the money spend on the passes and take 1 All out trip or take a few cruises instead. We no longer align with WDW and the horrible behavior of the crowds. 😢

Virtual queues CAN work and be really beneficial, but the technology has to be 100% solid with no magical disappearing acts. I've been wondering lately if HHN could do with a few virtual queues for the houses since the event has been sold out almost every single night. No one should be forced to wait 200 minutes or even 120 minutes to enter a house.

@@therealventures Well, I'm not a huge fan of it, either, since it requires monitoring your phone, but it really is just an electronic version of Fastpass, which EVERYONE loved. As such, it allows you to do other things instead of utterly wasting your time in a sadistically long line. Would you rather wait 120 minutes in a standby line or get assigned a return time and wait maybe 15 or 20 minutes?

@@conniehecht5457 I think the whole park is gonna have to go VQ at some point if the crowds continue, including flat rides and shows. You can keep the standby lines available for the hold-outs, but both Disney and Universal need a way to better control their populations if they're gonna continue to sell gate passes willy-nilly.

That actually makes me feel better about my decision not to return to Disney World. After our trip in 2019, spending almost $1000 CAD for one day for a family of 5, and me almost getting sick just over the planning that needed to be done to make the most out of our one day, my husband and I decided as much as we love Disney, it's not worth it anymore. Now seeing all the problems with virtual queues and rides going down daily, I don't feel like we're missing out!

Half the time my phone doesn’t even get notifications in a timely manner. I would probably get my call back the next day. I wouldn't like those virtual queues. When I'm at a park I want to enjoy the time.

It’s just another way for Disney to have more control imo. If people want to wait 150+ minutes for a new attraction let them and have an individual lighting lane option if people don’t want to wait.

Dude im saying! That virtual queue for Guardians is not needed at all! I'm visiting in November and pissed I have to get a spot and use Genie+ just to be able to ride it 2 times

I've ridden Cosmic Rewind 6 times, ALL 6 TIMES I have heard Disco Inferno. At this point, I think k that is the only song they play, and you can't tell me any different. 😂

Ditch Disney and focus on Universal content. I like when you explore other events/attractions outside of the parks too.

How scary is that ride? I feel like I’m scared because I normally don’t ride roller coasters. Is there another ride you would compare it too.

If you don't get nauseous easily, then it's a really fun ride! It's smooth and thrilling.

I would compare cosmic rewind to Expedition Everest and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.

The virtual que system sucks! I really wish disney would do away with it as well! Last year, my family and I visited Disney World and were super excited for the new Gaurdians ride. I unfortunately could not get a reservation and woke up super early and logged on early and all and couldn't get a reservation so we didn't even get to ride which was super frustrating as we only visit disney world once every 2 years and were really looking forward to it.
