1. Spring Rain for the win. Such a beauty. 2. The E95S nib is not actually called "hooded", as there is no hood, like on the Lamy 2000 or the Parker 51, for comparison. Goulet calls it an "inlaid" nib.

You're right! I made a mistake lolol I even know it's inlaid, but the word had slipped my mind I think. I definitely said the wrong thing, thanks for the correction! ♡ and yes, Spring 🌧 for the win! I cannot wait until the Spring time to just use this and feel all the nostalgia and essence of this pen haha

You have a stunning collection of pens and inks! I find it funny when people say they love gold trims because I’m the complete opposite! I’m a silver trim person all around (which is the minority of people). Look forward to more of your videos!

Oh really?! I always thought it was the other way around, I hear more people saying they love palladium/silver trims when I watch, I guess i don't hear others say they like gold trims as often since that's probably the majority. Thank you for watching 😀

I actually had the same issue with my Platinum Kanazawa Haku as well...Bought it used from someone on eBay and when it arrived, I noticed that half of that black band by the nib/grip section had worn away! 😭 It might be a common issue with this model, and I've been considering just scratching off the rest of it ever since, but unsure as to how it'd look. Yours still looks beautiful, thanks for sharing!

xD Yay you're watching my older video. I haven't used that pen in over 6 months and I miss it. XD It's a pen that's hard on my hand, but I'll never sell it I just love the maple leaves maki-e too much and the nib is super nice. And thank you for saying that, I do think it's still very nice despite the leftover glue bits that you can barely see where the black ring was xD

Benu uses Schmidt nibs... If you don't like the broad then you might want to get a fine. The tips of the F/M/B nibs are .6/.7/.8 and benu makes sure they're tuned proper before the pen leaves the house to yours. Glad you're having fun! Welcome to the other side of the looking glass!

Thanks, Zachery! That's very helpful! Knowing that they already are wet writers, I'm sure their F nib can handle shimmers just fine if I decide to use shimmer in my Talisman. 0.6 seems to be about other normal mediums and slightly thicker than Japanese mediums. I love the designs on the BENU pens so much :D Well, some resonate with me a lot more than the rest, which is good, or else I'd buy them all!

@@KenchanKrafts it should be good with shimmer....i don't use shimmer inks much really do i can't give a better answer. I know I bought my first benu with a medium that writes like a broad and the second was a fine that was juuuussssstttt right. Thank you and cheers! 😁

Lovely collection 🤩 I have the same pen roll by Rickshaw from Goulet - and I love it - but something’s awry with the way it fastens … Anyhoo. Great video - keep going!

How are you liking that Lamy with shimmer inks? I have the 1.9 calligraphy nib on my Safari and I’m trying to get over my fear of putting shimmer inks in my pens.

I had this lamy inked up with Emerald of Chivor with a 1.5mm stub from the beginning, and then I switched to the 1.1, which wrote much thinner than other 1.1 stubs and the 1.5, and it handles the shimmer very well! As with most shimmer inks, it's not 100% uniform, but it has not clogged this Lamy with the stub nibs. I also have a medium nib in another Lamy that I may have spread the tines a bit too much or it was just that wet of a nib, it writes really wet and also has not clogged with shimmer inks. I do think that the nib size and the size of the shimmer particles matter more than the feed, as I think most feeds can handle shimmer, unless the shimmer is large. I might do a video sometime discussing my shimmer experience, but you really have to know your shimmer ink. Beware of some of FWP shimmer inks. Diamine and Herbin shimmers are generally very well behaved! Hope that helps for now! Also a rule of thumb for me - I try not to ink my gold nibs and more expensive pens with shimmer. It's not worth it. :)

@@KenchanKrafts Ooo, thanks for the tips! I have a Lamy Medium nib that really lays down a good wet line, but I’m only now considering trying shimmers in my pens. I have a lot of stub nibs from a variety of brands so that’s also a possible option. Stubs are pretty great 😊

@@MummyBrown I love using stubs :) it's easy to write with nice line variations and they show off shimmer very well!
