I have to agree on how well they have dialed in the form factor on these. I have 4x Trilio's (2-16), their 66' Octopus, the Jellyfish and something else that I can't remember . Love, love the way they all fly.

110 is a monster. The stuff sack though is surprisingly small for that big a kite.

A real eye-catcher, and with helpers it should be quite manageable even in more wind. I think I'll stick with my 16 and the smaller ones. The packing up is always the worst part, but you did a good job there.

Thanks Jim always looking to improve on my videos. Three folks in the wind we flew it in but as it scales up to where it is decided it's too dangerous, probably could get away with one more.

It has been a very long time since I viewed a new Alaskiters video. I thought the group folded. Congrats on the new trilobite. At 110sqm, it will not only be a challenge to handle, but will make other show kites look modest in comparison. Again, it's good to see Alaskiters in action.

We're still alive and kicking albeit we had a very low point a few years back when we dwindled down to 3 or 4 flyers but we've rebounded and have some good together flying time including a new kite festival in Seward, our second year at the Kenai Kite Festival as well as a myriad of other local events. Our videographer has slowed down as he reaches his late 70's and I'm trying to pick up the banner in his stead and been putting sporadically videos as rime allows. With a solid crew of 8 flyers and a handful of other club flyers we'll continue to fly, share our passion and pass along the joy of flying to a younger generation that will hopefully be part of Alaskiters in the future.

Tim is considering buying the 420. I'm not sure where we have enough room to fly it. But if he does I'll be there to assist and film it!

@@alaskitersofficial My own largest is a 40sqm and that really needs two people to handle if the wind picks up. You'll need a whole team to deal with one that size! Hopefully you'll be flying this one at some time during the World Trilobite Kite Fly weekend. (Edit + correction, that should have said 18th and 19th of September this year!)

@@cloudybongo I believe we have a fly at the Autumn Festival at Pyrah's U-Pick Farm and I will definitely hope we can have a Trilo fly then. I have the 2-16, another Alaskiter has a 32 and time has to go with his 110. I think it will coincide with the World fly!

How many lbs of kite line do you use for this giant kite ?
@ttullis12 жыл бұрын
#2800 but think we could go lighter in this wind but Tin wanted to err on the side of caution...

Yeah!!!!! Looks great Tim. Looks like it flies really smooth. Appear to be very light winds.

Approximately 5mph from the West but shifted North up higher and very definitely a smooth flyer

Wonder if you could devise a way to iilluminate it with led lights for a little winter night flying . Boy that would be a sight
@ttullis12 жыл бұрын
Yep! I think Tim has a LED package that he can use on various kites.
