for those wondering the reason he started in a barren wasteland is because one curse disables rain on forest fire which combined with the animals constantly catching fire means the map would very quickly become a raging inferno.

How do you expect to survive in the boreal tundra if you're unwilling to eat everything edible? I think that if there was a thing to allow you to eat wood or rocks people would enable it as a default.

Did you know with prepare carefully you can make your own raid bosses? I made a Budget version of Tricky the Clown from Madness combat as a ancient and immediately when he was released he rushed into my drug storage, Inhaled my yayo and flake and proceeded to set everything on fire. Even though he didn't quite look like the clown he sure acted like him.

@@Jborhi_Ari So basically I gave him a shit ton of traits to make him Extremely hard to kill with revival abilities with over 700 mods I could not resist not too. I set his faction location to Ancients so its just about chance opening a ancient cryocasket to see him inside. (un)luckily for me it was the first room I opened and then *poof* he teleports out. If I had to guess the (God traits) like Herculean while having tough ,bloodthirsty, violent and pyromaniac caused him to have a swift spree. Also he was fireproof so that just made more sense

To the malnutrition overnight thing. You might be able to get around that by setting a bi-phasic sleep cycle. Essentially two 4 hour naps with work/play periods in between. Perhaps two sets of 4 4 4 would work. Sleep 4 work 4 recreation 4 and repeat.

@@FinnishCrystal I do know that, and I also know that I need my colonists to work 18 hours a day, and an extra 8 hours of overtime all the time. Giving them 4 hours rec time would be suicide

I played biphasic and in many hours of my current playthrough i had maybe 4 mental breaks on my main colonists (not counting prisoners and slaves as i have RJW and getting snuggled without consent upsets most pawns). So for me it is great. Sure its slower but pawns are less moronic than what i remember(i also played years ago). I think i had only 4 rec in a day though (and now as i have the circadian mod on everyone i do not have sleep in my colony so i have different cycle completely.) i think i had 4 rec 8 sleep and 12h whatever (as they can top off sleep/rec as needed and if all is good go to work. From what i heard having dedicated work hours just makes it all more hands on and pawns tend to get mental breaks. Sure this method makes the game longer but i have science never stops so long game is what i wanted from the beginning anyway and like i said i only had a couple mental breaks playing on normal for my first time after a long time away from this game. So biphasic definitely works for me (also how much time do you really loose on this method when your pawns almost never mentally break and waste time doing their wonders or tantrums or whatever. ).

I think this would be easier with the right mods. Like with some bionics mods you can get a stomach that reduces hunger, with the right clothes you could pretty easily withstand some explosions, with enough lights you'll never be hurt by the dark mod, and having mods that allow you to call traders would also help. With all minable resources turning to gold, you're filthy rich in that playthrough. As long as you can get a comms station up, you can call traders and you're pretty much good.

I found it interesting that this channel just try a challenge, fail, and just give up. Other channels usually will only upload when they succeed to unlock certain cheeses to demolish the challenge.

bro i'm telling you this for the success of your channel: stop affecting your voice like that, it's grating as hell. this doesn't sound like it's your natural voice, it sounds like you're speaking in a funny voice for comedic purposes, but it's not funny and it's just painful to hear. it's too bad because your short videos are good and this seemed like an interesting challenge, but i only made it through two minutes of video before i quit. you don't need to have a silky smooth radio voice but it's important that you don't sound positively grating on youtube. hope this doesn't come off as too harsh but i really think you need to hear that

I get this, it’s difficult to have a totally unchanged voice when recording and I know that I have some distance to go before I get to where I think it’ll be better. I am glad that you point this out though, as it’s something I’ve been trying to work on. Hopefully this’ll be more clear in the next videos I record
