Curtain Call: Camping at Longleat Safari Park & Latest Van Upgrades

We find a camping spot at one of THE BEST Safari parks in the UK; oh and for Winter it looks VERY different. BUT we've been upgrading the van recently, so wanted to share that too!
Longleat House has hosted the festival of lights for years, but we've never been. This year we booked, Rich got ill and we had to move it. So wanted to share our way around the Safari in brief (It's sure interesting in a bus, a real van life adventure), some eye opening facts from Kelly and of course the evening entertainment itself.
We also didn't realise that there was a place to camp right in the middle of the safari park; honestly it's so well placed and due to some amazing CAMAC Offer we got to stay for absolutely free!
In the weeks over Christmas we have also been learning new skills and making some upgrades to the bus, so thought we'd bring you bang up to date with our van life for 2024 - including some plans for us and our travels.

Through the 70s and 80s the 2 main parks for my family were longleat and cricket st Thomas. As a small child at that time the rides of longleat appealed to us kids as did the house appeal to my parents, a great holiday trip for a weekend, it was lovely to see it again, thank you. Good luck on your further upgrades.

Biggest thing with welding is distortion, tacking is so important, the thinner the metal the bigger the distortion

Ah no way. We drove a route in across the Somerset levels and Glastonbury. Was fun in the rain and wind but on the whole picturesque - it has led to us wanting to replace the shocks on the van though 😂

got to love vehicles, always something that needs repairing or replacing. What about Air Ride, might also help levelling when camping in fields. @@WanderbusAdventures

@@pas7272 would love air. On some of the 814D they come with leveling on them. Have seen a couple of municipal vehicles with it on.

Hi Rich, Great video and you appear to have done well with the Mig - Welding 👋👋👋👋. For Me I've still yet to try Mig - Welding as it will be a change for me from long term Ark Welding. Am I right to say the wire speed is between 5.5 & 6..I do have a fairly new Clarke 151 EN Turbo Mig - Welder but never used it as yet. I'd appreciate the feedback as I'm trying to educate myself ready for using my Mig- Welder, if you not mind please, Thank you Steve from Manchester. Enjoy your Welding and I look forward to seeing more of it on your Vario.👍
