Crazy collection. I thought I was cool with my Liga No. 9s, Melanios, and My Fathers, but this collection is extremely high end. I have two Opus Xs but I’m afraid to even smoke them haha.

Honest Cigar Reviews bought about 450-500 since the summer but I'm pretty new to taking it more seriously so I think I'm gonna have to slow down now. I'm basically out of room and adding anymore at this point will look tacky considering I love downtown in a condo. Maybe when I get a house eventually

Glad he corrected you on the "common smokes" comment! Anyone with a humidor like that probably has decent cigars inside. Doubt there'd be $2.50 sticks in it.

Mansa Musa well I meant more common for him. I know he only smokes the best but normally buys only special ones. So sometimes he has a drawer for cigars given to him which he doesn't normally smoke.

How do they keep, they don't improve with age in general I'm sure and if so are there any at all that are treated in a way that they do ?? Just how much do they decline and what's the value of freshness????

a lot of cigars age well. that is probably more of a personal opinion though. If you like fresh cigars or aged cigars...what is the value of freshness? I guess that is up to you.

I suggest you join CO Fans. If you want to be in an awesome group where you will be humbled by the collections that people have. for example, its not uncommon for people to buy a couple hundred cigars a month. come check it out I highly recommend it!

beans316 yes I do but there is a kickass group around that company on Facebook. It's basically a forum for like minded cigar collectors/smokers. Not pretentious and you will learn a lot more than you think. Give it a try and give me a shoutout when they add you!

Why keep the cigars in cellophane or aluminum tube, while in a humidor?

to protect them. cellphone is permeable. When we take the cigars out, they will have a little protection and from the dry air it helps and if one is contaminated it won't spread as much.

This is your step dad and he didn't offer you an opus x when you said you never smoked one... wow. I'm sorry but he obviously has some money but is a selfish smoker. Any time I have someone at my house and they notice my cigars I always offer them one or two minimum and I'm broke! It's called being a botl... but I guess he's not even a step dad of the leaf.

Keegan Shannon he is using an electric humidifier and a small fan sometimes to circulate air sometimes. Probably a cigar oasis product .

Just like to say I have the exact same humidor but in a lighter oak wood. The company that custom makes them is www.humidorstore.com. I’ve had it for over 10 years. Never had any problems. Very happy with it. I probably have 20-25 boxes inside it.

I'm sorry but you are completely wrong about the 2 differently aged my father's they have people working to separate all the different shades of brown for the different boxes. That is why we have English market select, American market selection and so on. All you have there is the same cigar with to different shades of brown. Sure the 5 year old my father will taste different and may slightly vary in colour from whe it first started aging but not that much. If you don't belive do your research or just read "the ultimate cigar book"

James Patton about 2. I smoke a pipe sometimes though. I buy mostly 5 packs when they are on sale and I get samplers. About once a month I try to hit a cigar lounge.

I have smoked many cigars from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic such as rocky Patel, padron, davidoff and regius just to name a few and they are not even in the same league as the high end Cuban cigar market, I can understand if you simply have not tried any decent Cubans as they are not easily available to you but to say Cubans are overrated is just comical. If you’re ever in Cuba or Europe you should try the cohiba behike 52 and 54, bolivar belgravia 2015 uk regional edition, Romeo and julieta de luxe limited edition 2013, cohiba esplendido, cohiba robusto just to name a few of my favourites and they will not disappoint.
