Custom Detailed Walthers Mainline Rio Grande SD50's!

6 ай бұрынThis pair of Walthers "Mainline" units started out plain and were upfitted with correct nose mounted Gyralights, airhorn, snow plow, sanding lines, long hood bell and many other DRGW specific details. Internally they are upgraded to LokSound 5 with a ESU PowerPack for stay alive power, Scale Sound Systems speaker and all LED lighting. Light weathering was applied to the underframe & trucks.

Genesis SD50's would be nice! For now we have to make do with what's available, I have detailed the Athearn RTR version of these as well.

How did you do the Mars lights? the locomotives don't come with them. It would be nice if you can post a video on how you did it

It's a part made by Details West, you will need to sand the area flat first, then drill a couple starter holes, work to a bigger drill, then use a knife and a file to widen the opening. It's slow going but practice makes perfect! I used to model DRGW so I have installed dozens of these.

What size LED's and any particular brand?

0603 with 0402 for accessory lighting, warm white, they are a generic brand from China.
