Now that Kalmbach has been sold and will have to move offices, it has been confirmed this layout will be coming down. Hopefully they will be able to salvage it or some of it.

Actually this scene with the Grain Elevator is going to the NMRA, it will be a keepsake from the original layout! Always sad to see a legendary Model Railroad bite the dust but I'm sure they will be back even better than before with new project layouts.

What amperage are you driving through the marker lights? Assuming 3V drop over the LED, I'm guessing you want them slightly dimmer than the headlights

ESU is actually really helpful in this case where you can dim the outputs digitally and adjust the brightness as desired!

that engine now works sundays and mondays in munising michigan on the fox valley line. he always takes box cars and tankers to a paper mill factory. and every other week. he brings center beams for a lumber place

The speaker is from Scale Sound Systems and a drop in replacement for the dual cube speaker that comes factory. The upgrade focuses more on bass than overall volume or upper high pitch sounds, you can of course read more about it on their website: www.scalesoundsystems.com

How did you do the Mars lights? the locomotives don't come with them. It would be nice if you can post a video on how you did it

It's a part made by Details West, you will need to sand the area flat first, then drill a couple starter holes, work to a bigger drill, then use a knife and a file to widen the opening. It's slow going but practice makes perfect! I used to model DRGW so I have installed dozens of these.

I've actually gotten the real GTW 5856 that was brought back on the L519 in June of 2022. This locomotive, I love the actual modern look to make it look like the real thing than compared to right out of the factory as is. Well done!
