Get a 180 dollar welder from Harbor Freight. Its all you need. No sand blaster needed, just use a wire wheel on drill or put one on a grinder.
@triumphmanful7 жыл бұрын
Have you tried and tested these for burn times and ease of use ? Do they smoke when you add fuel ? Would an inlet pipe with holes on the inside make a better draft, like an ammo box rocket stove.? I have seen it on the youtube site. Really cool looking though. Nice work !
@rudygeorgiamulesandcountry15942 жыл бұрын
The pivoting draft disc system is highly efficient and ALL that should be needed in its present position. With that said, I personally would prefer to see the Pivot point for the draft disc be located @ 12 0'clock instead of 7 0'clock to allow for gravity to hang the disc CLOSED to limit combustion in case of failure of the tension spring; rather than allowing it to fall 0PEN and increase combustion uncontrolably.

Hi ! Some comments from my side. These stoves look great, it's an art but ... The pipe is too big for portable equipment and such a small furnace size. All the heat will flee to heaven at once ;) A short piece of pipe should be attached permanently. Remember that the angler or hunter often has to walk a long way to the camp site. There is no grille inside? Sharp parts may injure when carrying or damage the car inside while driving. But other than that, it's a great job. Congratulations.

Where do you source old propane tanks from?
@REDNIC799 жыл бұрын

I am in the middle of a propane tank stove build project. Its a small stove about like these on your video. I was intending to set it in my 2nd story bedroom just for romantic time and a supplemental heat suppy if needed. My question is, I plan on a 4" chimney outlet. How do I vent that outside? I would rather go thru wall than to go thru roof. I know you can but 6" kits but are there special rules I have to follow or just run it thru the wall and fab my own kit and put a vented cap on the end outside? Everyone has stove build videos but no install videos. Lol.
@REDNIC799 жыл бұрын
well..... none of these stoves are up to code in any way, so i would say fab up you own 4" kit. Maybe make a section of 4" double wall pipe to go through some tin in the wall. I've always just cut a 4" hole in a 2'x2' steel or tin plate and stuffed the pipe through that, but in a house you would want to put some time into a better 'kit style' insulator
@MrJoshuathacker9 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I bet that pipe would get pretty hot too I suppose? I can weld good but im new to the wood stove stuff. Being out of code does that mean its still ok to use them in home?
@REDNIC799 жыл бұрын
Josh Thacker yeah it would get fairly hot, just copy a know good design. Not to code meaning, if your house burns down from using it in there...you may not be insured. Stoves for use in the home are 'certified' and tested......saying that, depending on how well it's built / safely insulated from the floor and walls with some concrete board or tin.... If will work just fine and be as safe as the person using it :)

Put the damper on the back side and vent it to the outside air , if you use indoor air for the fire it goes up the chimney and has to be replaced with cold outside by way of cracks in the walls windows doors and you have to heat that cold air , a waste of energy , put the cold air directly into the fire box , that way you only have to heat the inside air and you would use about half the wood needed
