Wetherspoons. There's at least one in every town and city in the UK and there's at least 20 drunkards in each one at any given time, but can I successfully figure out where I am based on the 5 randomly generated Wetherspoons "pubs" in this game of geoguessr?
Play this map: geoguessr.com/challenge/AyH4zQs9Berh39E7
TO PLAY ALONG: Play your round, put your marker down, then switch tabs back to KZfaq to watch my attempt and the result. This way you don't ruin the game or the video!

The name Todmorden for the town was first used in the 17th century. Before that it was variously called Tottemerden, Totmardene or Totmerden. The meaning of the name derives from the Totta valley, and i don't believe it has any relation to the modern german language.

Don't know if anyone else saw it, but for the final round, I figured out it was Cambridge because of the BlueArrow sign. If you read the text under the BlueArrow sign it says, "Language School Cambridge". I could barely make out the word with how pixelated the text was, but I ended up finding the Wetherspoon and getting a perfect score to secure the victory. Good round Tom

Hull is not my closest spoons but it is nearby, so the name rang a bell but honestly even I didn’t recognise it, mainly because I think I’m more familiar with the other side of the building. But honestly I saw the name, looked at the surroundings, and because they don’t look much like the rest of the city, I was looking for everything to convince me it wasn’t Hull, and by the end of the round, I thought there was no way, I was fully convinced it was somewhere else. Don’t beat yourself up about it Tom - despite all the other comments, still even a local, who has seen many frequent it on social media, couldn’t identify it! (I also should’ve most definitely recognised the cream telephone boxes, but I managed to convince myself that I was wrong in thinking they were exclusive to Hull haha)

@@PiousMoltar I think Hulls came before the typical red ones, at least they were made by the local hull council, The standard ones were red because of the post office btw.

I just experienced my first win against Tom! On the London one, there was a sign on the partition directly on the left that said 'Spire London.' Great work as always though!

The trick with the Cambridge one is to have grown up there for 18 years. That really helped. That and the bikes. Oh also the Regal used to be the biggest pub in the UK when it opened, and an old bloke in there once told me they have the biggest loos of any UK pub. One more fun fact. The Picturehouse is a top cinema.

Just watched a Jago Hazard video about the West India Docks which had a shot of the pub with the marker buoy... a very odd coincidence that I should watch this within a few minutes!
