Custom Night Vision

Күн бұрын

We're of the opinion that if you're going to commit to something, you should have a purpose to that commitment. Streamlined and purpose built weapons systems will save a lot of time, and more importantly, money. Kevin shares his thoughts on this philosophy and shows that there is more than one approach to procure Night Vision.

14.5 p/w with suppressor, acog (or other quality prism) with 12 oclock T-2(or other NV capable dot) is really the end all be all for a do all/ have one rifle.

I used to follow this train of thought- specific rifles for specific tasks. But then I remembered that real life isn't a COD lobby, and I can't switch my loadout whenever I want. I settled with one go-to fighting rifle, and the others are just for fun. Don't get hung up on it being 16", 18", or 20". CQB is fun in training, but that's where people die- don't do it in the real world. In short, get one rifle that is a do-all. You aren't lugging around all your min-max weapons when you're living your mad max / red dawn fantasy. But hey, that's just my opinion. Good video though.

I take a beltfed everywhere so… But, if I need to leave the house and go shoot people in west Texas I’m bringing a different gun than if I’m going into downtown Houston. The theory is sound.

Accurate! That's why I'm going with a 13.9" pin and weld build as my "do all SHTF GPR". Great muzzle velocity, no SBR stamp needed, and still maneuverable with or without a 6" can attached. Might build an 11.5" pistol to compare, and a 9" 300 blackout specific for home defense....but the one I'm grabbing first (as of rn) is the 13.9"!
@UncleDon226

Dont build a gun for home defense. If you ever need to use it, the prosecutor is gonna have a field day with that. Theyre gonna be calling you a dangerous lunatic, and all kinds of lies about you. Worse still, the jury wont know shit about guns and are likely to believe him. Get a reliable, unmodified gun for home defense. Something common and preferably not "scary looking" I've heard the horror stories and it just isnt worth it.

I firmly believe that it's because people want to look like operators. The VAST majority of people would be better suited to a 16", 18", and yes, a 20" barrel due to the better ballistics and accuracy. (in b4 someone says "the accuracy is the same", I know, dummy. But it's easier for most people to shoot more accurately with a longer barrel)

@@UncleDon226 he's the guy in the video btw. I'm taking a 13.7-14.5" pin and weld over a 16" allllll day. It's not that much different in terms of velocity than a 16", but you get some added maneuverability, weight reduction, and just a bit more compactness overall.

If the video got a bit off topic I apologize. My brain was literally fried from the heat. Essentially I’m suggesting a more streamlined gun collection, freeing up more funds to invest in nightvision. I still believe the one or two guns you do buy/keep should be high quality with appropriate accessories of similar quality.

I sort of lean that way, but I never really saw a point in owning nods, past the cheapo One leaf digital clip on I've got (great for critter eradication).
