I have a 2014 Ford Edge with a totally destroyed front emblem. Already found a nice replacement emblem and now just waiting for a warmer winter day to replace the crappy one. Nice job you did on your F150. Amazing to me how many different install options are on the various Ford vehicles...no wonder these things cost so much from the factory. Thanks for your post, keep up the good work.

I’ve seen the same video you were talking about. Luckily my emblems were color matched when I bought my truck, so I didn’t have to paint them. I’ve seen guys use plastidip on the emblems with some good success. As far as the bubbling in the paint, next time just wipe everything down with alcohol to get all the contamination off of it. Oh, and I found some stuff for repairing plastic, it’s called Qbond , might give it a look. Emblem turned out looking good, have a good holiday.

The emblem turned out perfect. Your video has given me some inspiration. I have a big emblem on the front with the camera built in. Taking it off is going to be a challenge so I'm going to do a little more research. It has to feel good knowing you did it yourself. Oh and by the way I think we are neighbors! As for the F150 badge watch what you said @ min 12:55. Black IS the color my friend. Satin or mat as you don't want that piece to ""steal" the thunder of the center badge.

nice trick with wedging the emblem off w/o trying to push from the inside. I would go the super glue route as it would be less work to adhere the pieces. When are you doing the front emblem?

I have a lariat special edition that’s black so it has red accents. I had a shop from Facebook do mine, charged me a EMBARRASSINGLY amount and they look horrible. I’m going to do this to my stock ones I took off

How did you clean the pieces? Might be surface contamination making the paint bubble. Plastics have mold release chemicals on the surface from when they’re molded that cause adhesion issues or the paint is reacting with the plastic that part of the emblem is made of

Nice vid Mack! I've watched several how to's for this job. I'm about to do my '22 I just got in Oxford White. Planning on making the chrome parts black and the blue oval will be white to match the truck. I'm hesitant to mess anything up but seeing another guy wing it with great success is giving me some more confidence. My question about the factory tape vs the tape you used is the seal to the tailgate...does that seal well enough to the truck to prevent water from getting inside?
