15:59 To help get rid of that twist, weld a piece of pipe long ways in frame from the front to the back. In the trailer industry it is called a Torque Tube. It will act as a torsion bar and stop the sway and twist.

Yes, I know about it. Planning to try other alternatives before going that route only because it’s just a 25’ deck

i always make the rub rail 2" flat bar and center it on the stake pocket. i have had trailers and flatbeds with the rub rail the same height as the stake pockets and sometimes i cant use the straps with the flat metal bent hooks because the rub rail and stake pocket together are too thick at the top or bottom. to get the hook on. love your builds. i have 2 trailers that i have been wanting to do something similar to for years. maybe one day. nice to see you are ok and doing well my friend.

I normally don’t loop my straps just because I don’t have many of that kind, I usually bypass the rub rail and hook to the channel underneath. Let me know when I need to come help you with that trailer conversion 😁

The drop down extend a neck to make ride as low as poss critical prt. Other is left & right bal sharing the force load, But hving way to pin/slide drop in towing load not ball.

If u must make a tiny step forward u can make the figure 8 track prop power not jet power but sitting in front of jet engine protecting high dollar fan blades, so u just throttle up the prop lower the jet burners for fuel saving or more jet landing reverse mode or taking off.

When building a bed for a truck, how do you decide where to install the gooseneck ball? Air ride=anywhere? Leaf springs=in front of axle?
@j_moffitt
@j_moffitt Жыл бұрын
It should be over or in front of the axle. If it’s behind the axle you’re limiting the carrying capacity and it’s basically like a bumper pull where you’re taking weight off the front axle/wheels. Mine is behind the axle because this bed was originally going on a different truck and it was over or just slightly behind the axle. My plan is to relocate the axle on this truck so that it is underneath the gooseneck.

Free GOD alloy super metal many faces to choose from sides biscuits so u can hve 2,3,10 many side biscuit alloys to choose from bc sliding a 4 or more side biscuit alloy from front & back sides is 8 grooves not counting the 2 faces of sheet u slide alloy biscuit into.

Only way to really protect a jet engine is to hve spiderman like prop fans ultra light hybrid drive in front to take the hit & shutter into tink safety glass like pieces. If glass plastic mix safety breaks yet ulta light bc it was spiderman web like super thick thick wise but ultra airy flat profile wise. 1 day electric pro no center shaft track/groove prop drive.

Why is your gooseneck ball so close to the back of your bed? It’s supposed to be 6” in front of the center of your axle.

@@j_moffitt says anyone who sales gooseneck hitches. Maybe I was wrong by saying 6”, but everything I found was centerline of axle or forward. Nothing says behind the axle.

What about bumper pull trailers?
@hoggwild3706
@hoggwild3706 3 ай бұрын
@@j_moffitt well I believe that one of the benefits of the gooseneck hitch is to distribute the weight of the trailer onto the tow vehicle better than the bumper tow style.
@j_moffitt
@j_moffitt 3 ай бұрын
You’re correct but that still doesn’t make the placement of mine incorrect. The reason mine is back that far is because this bed was originally going on a different truck with a longer wheelbase. Even though this isn’t “correct” it has not affected the trucks towing capability in any way. Does it take some weight off the front end? Sure, but so would a bumper pull of relative size. I’m rambling at this point, but I can sum it up by saying yes, it’s farther back that what it’s “supposed” to be, but this truck is heavy enough and has enough counterweight that it is acceptable.
