In this video I'm repairing a C64 that a customer sent to me. The original problem was a black screen and this varied from just a black screen to a screen with alternating black and blue lines. Luckily the PLA was already socketed so it was a simple task to remove and try a replacement which fixed the issue. While testing some other things were discovered. Hope you all enjoy the video.

Hey Chris, purchased a moduliminator diy kit and have it all built minus the diode. Cant figure out its orientation from the picture on the silkscreen nor what you have posted online. Any chance you can helo me out with that so I can test it out? Thanks!

I know it’s hard to see but if you look very closely with a microscope at the diode you’ll see a line on one side, that side goes toward the bottom by R10

@@DIYChris this helps a ton!! I can see the stripe on the diode, just didn't know how it goes on the PCB. Let's hope I can catch a break from the kids today and finish it up. Thanks!!

That ding reminds me of a mac bong... nothing beats an analog sid chip. Its close but doesnt have the same sound. Speaking of the test harness do you know where i can find one other than greedbay?

This is the one I use github.com/svenpetersen1965/C64-Diagnostic-Rev.-586220-Harness. I was going to offer them pre-built on my website at some point. They are just time consuming to build and I would have to charge at least $80 for it. 3D printing, die cutting labels, soldering and cable assembly but if you're interested in DIY, I do have all the PCBs and components for you to build yourself minus the cables.
