You could grab some magnets to put on the table to support the fence when you have it shifted in.

Great review, information dense without excess fluff and covers all of the topics someone might be interested in when looking at the review. Also plenty of shots to to illustrate what you're describing. Well done! I'm debating the 10" vs the 12". Any reason not go for the 12"?

Thanks! The only reason I didn’t get the 12” is because where I store it under my workbench would only fit the 10”. Otherwise I would have preferred to get the 12”.

Nice review,Based on your details,I just ordered the 12 inch from Amazon at 15% off Black Friday! Cutech is going to have a cast iron fence as a add on.Ship in early Dec.

Appears to be like the Wahuda 10" which has 4 carbide cutting edges. I've had no trouble with mine over 2 years and have heard of none from others. It cuts excellently. The 12" Cutech sounds awesome. When I bought the Wahuda 10" it was the widest available benchtop jointer.

Couple of questions: How wide is your pullout shelf for the 10" Jointer? How much bigger would it have to be for the 12" CUTECH Jointer? Just in the planning stages of making my out feed/assembly table. I really like the pull out (drawer) idea! I'm going to incorporate that into my out feed/assembly table along with a lift for my DeWalt planer (going to put it on a motorcycle lift. Thank you for time and effort you put into your videos. They are very informative.

Thanks Mike! the shelf is 14" wide for the 10" jointer, and the jointer base takes up a good portion of the base, so I'd recommend 16" for the 12" jointer. I originally built my pull out shelf for the 8" jointer with a little room to spare, so when I ended up getting the 10" it just barely fit.

Great video as usual! I’m curious what you do with your “old” tools when you upgrade. Do you sell them locally or hold on to them?

Thanks! Great question! I'll probably sell the WEN jointer and planer locally, but haven't decided for sure. Getting replacement tools like the jointer and planer is not a common thing for me. For example, it's been more than 20 years since I got a new table saw and miter saw.

I like this jointer brand as an option for my small shop. My question is: If i get this jointer does it negate the need for a planer? And can i create S4S boards just using the jointer and table saw?

Not yet. I've ordered it, but I guess it's on back order right now, so I'm waiting for it to come in.

I own a 6" WEN jointer. Once I replaced the HSS blades with new carbide set, the alignment was thrown off and it got noisy. Do not buy it!

That sounds like a user error issue. Wen doesn’t sell carbide cutters for it, so unless the cutters were the exact same size, you would have to realign the tables.
