These table extensions are perfectly flat and level to the jointer table top. These are for a Cutech benchtop jointer, although this approach is likely to work with many different brands of benchtop jointers.

Brilliant! This will also work on my Wahuda jointer AND planer which have the same extensions, though I've found that they aren't bad in themselves. As far as I know, only Cutech & Wahuda use these slide-out extensions.

Thanks! I agree, it should also work on the Wahuda. I had a WEN that also had the same pull out extensions, and I think there are some other brands that are all basically the same jointer (made by the same manufacturer), just sold under different brands.

Very very clever! I had almost decided not to buy the 12" Cutech due to the short bed but now that I've found your video, maybe I will go ahead! I have a large 8" jointer but I often need to flatten wider boards. Have you come across any issues with your melamine beds?

Thanks! The melamine bed extensions have been holding up great, no problems at all.

Brilliant! I don't have a jointer yet... do you like yours? what make and model? I'm limited to 110 in my shop (aka garage).

Thanks! Yes, I really like the jointer, it is a Cutech 10" with a cast iron top. Really nice! It works on 110, also all that I have available in my shop. Thanks so much for your great comments on my videos!

Nice router table. I bought one (Bosch) that doesn't have a knob to control the height. Do you have a link to yours?

Thanks! I made the table as part of my workbench, and used a Kreg router lift that has the height adjustment. I just now added a link in the description of the video to the router lift.

The table extensions are a simple and brilliant idea. I'm thinking of getting this jointer however I have limited space for the depth of the machine. If you get a chance and have the time could you measure from the back of the planer with the fence pushed all the way back, to the front of the planer and let me know the depth. In other words, how deep the bench needs to be if the planer is against a wall at the back. Thank you.

Thanks! I measured, and it is about 22" from the front edge of the feet of the machine to the back of the extended fence bracket when the fence is all the way in the back position. The fence bracket sticks about 8" off the back (included in the 22"). Note that I have the 10" planer. Hope that is helpful.

How long of a board does this let you run through joiner? Looking at 10” wahuda which is basically same as Cutech.
@jkmwoodworking
@jkmwoodworking 7 ай бұрын
With the extensions the total bed length is 54”. Some say you can joint a board 2x the bed length, so longer than 8 ft, but I don’t know if that would be feasible. The longest I’ve done on this jointer is just over 6’
