Today on the channel we give some thoughts on the EGO cordless chainsaw while felling some trees. Oh, and we pull some trees with the EcoDiesel, too.

I am thinking seriously about getting one of these. I am in Southeast Asia and the electric service here is 220v. Usually things like battery charges are rated at a range from 100-240v. Could you take a look when you have a free minute and see what the rating is on the battery charger? Thanks.

I didnt see any hinge. And back cut seemed off. The Ego 18" is really great electric saw. I would get couple extra batteries. I got one in addition to my gas powered monster.

Like everyone has already said, that back cut needs to be perfectly in line with the vertex of the wedge, and about 1-2 inches behind, so you have 1-2 inches of hinge wood to. You shouldn't be forcing the tree to split apart. look up "barber chair", it kills people
@elmerfudd76742 жыл бұрын
You leave enough stump?? Is that just the right height for your boyfriend to bend you over?? Oh, by the way, I won an EGO 18" saw. Leaks oil just sitting there. Called the company their advice was to empty the bar oil tank after every use. POS. Don't waste your money.

You can buy bigger batteries, or spare batteries. Also the fast charger is a must.
@Thesaltyseafish Жыл бұрын
Don't use the fast charger, it'll kill the batteries faster. I alternate 3 7.5 amp batteries with the slower 210w chargers and have cut 20 cords no problem. If you've got a bunch of their tools it's no problem to cycle them, the 5 amp can't take as heavy of abuse or milling, rather save those for lighter work.
@kewlztertc5386 Жыл бұрын
@@Thesaltyseafish what evidence if this do you have? Typically fast charging is detrimental to lithium batteries because of heat generation. Heat kills batteries. EGO, uses air circulation and thermal materials (ARC Lithium) to keep the batteries cooler. Furthermore, EGO batteries are comprised of many smaller cells (batteries) and sophisticated management circuitry. The Speed isn't harmful where the volume is. EGO has also taken this into consideration as it doesn't allow its cells to be fully charged. There is slack to preserve longevity. EGO gives a 3 year warranty on each of its batteries. That warranty doesn't stipulate that the user must only use one type of EGO charger. Nor is this some arbitrary number, EGO'S engineers have thoroughly tested and calculated every aspect of the batteries. It would be highly cost inefficient to promote and sell a product that would cost the company money in warranty replacements.

The question for me is whether to buy this model chainsaw or get a petrol chainsaw like a Stihl. The 16 inch Ego we have is a bit small for cutting down and cutting up bigger trees. It’s fine for smaller stuff. The question is whether the larger Ego chainsaw has the power. Your chainsaw seems to cut through a big log quite well.
@baddriversofcolga2 жыл бұрын
I don't have experience with it myself, but from what I've seen it seems to be a pretty sizeable upgrade over the 16" (which I have and love). It has quite a bit higher motor speed and it uses a larger chain. You could always try it out and return it if you find it unsatisfactory.
@kdegraa2 жыл бұрын
