EGO 56v 18" Chainsaw (CS1804) Review

In this video, I provide a quick overview of the EGO 56v CS1804 18" 45cc equivalent chainsaw. Unfortunately, the camera suffered a slight mishap halfway thru so I didn't get as thorough as I'd like to be.
EGO has an extensive lineup of outdoor power equipment and this chainsaw is an excellent choice to add to your garage. I've been using cordless electric chainsaws since they first came out, starting with a Stihl MSA 160, moving up from there. Its clear the technology has come a long way with brushless motors and lithium batteries providing BETTER performance than a gas chainsaw.
The EGO CS1804 in my opinion is the best choice in EGO's current lineup, better than the CS1604 (nearly double the RPM) and even better than their upgraded CS1611 model. You get 2 extra inches of blade and chain which can make a major difference depending on the trees you're trimming.
Incredible run time, with even just a 2.5ah battery this chainsaw will work longer than I want to. I find that by the time the small battery wears out, I'm usually out for the count as well. However, if you really want to be sure, EGO makes up to a 12 ah battery! That is massive! It will literally run the whole day!
If you're considering a cordless chainsaw and especially if you like the other options in the EGO lineup, this is the one to add to your collection!

I had the 16 in. They came out with 18 in and I upgraded. I love it. Now, ego is coming out with a 20 inch. Will be upgrading again.

I have the Ego 16” that is equivalent to a 40 cc gas chainsaw. Love it.

Good point. Usually have two pair with me but with setting everything up for filming and what not, I missed it. Good reminder to always where protection when cutting.

Are you aware if youre "supposed to" swap bar lengths? Theres a new 20" CS2005 Ego chainsaw coming out very soon. As much as i want the extra power of the bigger "engine" 20" bar is a bit much and it would be nice to know if you can swap it for something smaller but still have that CS2005 power.

"Supposed to"? :) I'm sure they'd prefer you use as they've configured. That said, there looks to be no reason why you can't swap out the bar and chain for an 18". They both (the current 18" and the new 20") run a 3/8-inch pitch, .050-inch gauge chain so it shouldn't be a problem.

@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc thanks for the quick response, I gave Ego a call just to double check if this would work and they're saying that the connection point is different than the other chainsaws and so it only is compatible with the 20" bar even tho they're the same pitch and gauge. Just thought I'd put this here for anybody wondering

@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc I think its because the 20" has bolts instead of the big knob that is used to tighten on previous models
