Frank’s Patriot is a good contender too, and if made in USA matters to you you cant beat the Franks. I have the Drews and dont think anything less of supporting craftsmen in Mexico. This really is a top tier boot for the money.

I enjoy the smooth inside. Some boots like Whites, Wesco charge to have leather lining, having all roughout gives the durability and that smooth leather lining without the charge for it. To answer your question, no, it doesn't make your heel slip.

I wondered the same when I saw that the counter area was smooth too. I thought it would be a roughout counter cover and a smooth shaft. Makes sense not to create a raised ridge from the edge of that or not to make an unnecessary failure point inside of the boot.

They'll only take 3-4 months if they don't have your size in stock, otherwise, you should get it in a few weeks. You'll know if it says build to order instead of add to cart on their website.

@@maxwellhouseranch1004 those are a heck of a lot of boot for the money and look just as well-built as other machine stitchdown PNW boots I have owned and seen cut in half.

Yeah, it has that annoying tapered sock liner or whatever it's called on the insole. Those will peel up and drive you crazy, right?

They said they "improved" on the 55 Last or whatever but I still haven't heard from anybody what was wrong with it in the first place that they didn't send me one of those to check out and compare with this one to see if it was really an improvement. I never got the second boot on my foot so I can only say that the left one didn't fit at all.

So it's a 55 with a wide toe box? That sounds amazing.

@@brianesterly9224 Not necessarily wide but HUGE [so probably too long more so but could not accurately judge this overall size as one could by standing in both], which may suit some people if they can get their foot in through the narrow opening, but then it should probably be called by the name of that other last that White's and Nick's call #79 or is it Toe #4 instead of #3 perhaps? I mean, if you're willing to pay for return shipping if you can't wear them, then they are a lower price alternative.

You would have to call Baker Boots in Eugene OR, I have several pairs of Whites and other PNW boots these are built just as well, and are a lot more comfortable.
