BEFORE commenting, read this: *This sawmill is not a finished product *This sawmill has dual power source, both petrol and electric, thus the purpose of the heavy electric motor on the saw head *The electric motor is the main power source, but it's not hooked up yet (you can see the power box near the sawmill outside) *I can't use a centrifugal clutch on the petrol engine since it hooks up to the same jackshaft as the electric motor and the revs don't match (electric motor has constant 1435 rpm, centrifugal clutch works at higher revs) *There is a designated spot for the blade coolant/lube tanks on the blade cover, although they're not hooked up either *There will be a proper height adjustment system with 5 mm increments *The axle of the sawmill trailer is not in my way and there's no need for it to be removable *It's not hard to push the blade through the wood, although a hand powered feeding system will come *The sawmill trailer must not be lower, it is at a proper working height since I'm 6'3"-4"-ish/192 cm tall, my back thanks me already for that *Log loading system will consist of a winch and log ramps, I will not make it hydraulic, at least not in the nearest future *I have a log arch that'll be used for moving logs around, also by hand *I will use the boards I cut on the sawmill for future projects *I have planned a sawmill shed build to cover the sawmill from the elements and to insure a dry working environment for myself *The corners of the blade guards will stay, at least in the beginning, so there's more room to handle the blade since the guards aren't easily removable, even if it looks bad *I will paint the mill but as you may already understand - the looks of the machines is not that important to me - I care about the mechanical condition and functionality *The sawmill trailer will have removable lights for portability - we already have a set that we use for towing cars *This is not the last video about this sawmill - it's just the last video of the build series ;) This list here pretty much sums up what I still have to do before I can call this sawmill being finished. Nice mill, good workmanship. I had built one when I worked in a shop in northern Alberta. I started off with a 6.5 hp engine but found it a little sluggish when i got into the bigger logs. I replaced it with a 15 hp what a world of differance. We move back to Sask. And haven t used it since.
