You could also leave a section on the back part so you can bend it over to help prevent water getting into your corner

@@MrPostFrame it’s a great little training video - if you’ve got the patience for this you could be a real asset to your fellow man. It’s so “see one, do one, show one.” I’ve actually saved the link so I can show my gutter and standing seam guys. They may know it but I don’t think they’ve seen it so we’ll explained - especially the college guys on his summer crews.

Should have a tab as well that folds over, to one comment I saw asking how it's done: Just cut one of the outer marks on nailing flangs + middle line, do your first angle cut and then cut the inside bend where your flap is

If you leave the flap on top edge you bend that around corner also siding covers it an helps water proof it

Exactly how i would do it. Just a bit tricker when you have another bump out at the bottom instead of going straight veritcal. Like more of a dripedge. Thats when you have to two piece it otherwise youre going to have to cut the dripedge hem and it doesnt look as neat

Leave the true 45 side "seen most" about 1/8 long on the wall side. This will let you tin the excess over eliminating the need for any caulking

No tab on nail flange that's a leak point rest looks good but teach people right water always finds a way our job as construction workers is to not only make things good to look at but functional at the same time that will fail where the the corner meets the wall water will find its way in there once caulking fails

This is great! What about for the foundation piece? I have a Z that I'm working on, But it steps out an inch or so at the bottom. How would you go about that bend. The way I did the first corner was just the make two cuts and just bend tabs around and have both sides run long so there's a lap. I don't like it though and know there's probably a cleaner way.

@@MrPostFrame It's not rat guard 😢 If you go to the part in your short video where you're cutting the 45 you can see a piece on the foundation below, I believe it's the same as what I'm doing only my piece of metal is much larger (from top down 6"x1.5"x8"). What I have is a step out where my stem walls are exposed and jut out about an inch.
