In this video I start laying down orchard grass hay with the White 2-135 ad Gehl 2412 Discbine. Dad also started cutting his hay and laid down the yield contest field, more on that in a later video. Overall everything went well and the hay is look pretty good except for parts of the back field where the orchard grass has died out.

I do the same and windrow with my mower too. I’ve had really good luck getting the soil to dry out the shake it out over it.

Wow, 25 acres is an impressive amount to knock down for small squares! That mower makes quick work of it though. How many bales would you expect from 25 acres in your parts? Sounds like all day with the stack wagon 😅

This hasn’t been the best start to the year so I’d guess 50 bales/acre. But I’m also going to be round baling portions that don’t have as good of a stand. Stay tuned for the yield contest at dads place on one of his fields. And yes it’s a long day sometimes more. I can stack a load in 15 mini if it’s close. But I have to restack all mine because it won’t fit in my building. That really adds some time. If I didn’t have to do that it would be a breeze. I can pick up faster than one baler can bale but lose time when i go to dump.
