I'm having a great time following this series of videos! I'm also so impressed after all these years of watching you, you would think that video quality might go down or be not what it used to, but every video seems to shock me with the production quality and how much better they get each time. Keep it up, Josh!

Great content Josh - as someone flying an RV10, it's an amazing aircraft. Our avionics are the older Dynon D100 and D120, and thinking about the upgrade to newer avionics is always on my mind. Really enjoying following along on your journey to a great new panel.

I've been watching your channel for 3 years now, first video I ever found of yours was you doing touch and goes in 991. Which I have to say is the most beautiful Cessna I've ever seen. And I looked at more of your videos, and I knew that your channel would be a great way for me to learn more about aviation, and keep that knowledge for when I become a pilot. I'm excited for you because of how far you've come on your channel, your videos are made to a very professional extent, the narrating you put into your videos gives them a sense of excitement for not just all aviators, but I think for everyone who watches your videos. I'm also excited to see how N80991 will look when it's finished, because I'm a big lover for Cessnas, and I love how much passion you've put into the aircraft. I myself am currently in flight training, but I'm going to another flight school because of a recent move I made from my previous location. Biggest difference in both flight schools, is the one from my previous location was at an airfield with no ATC, and the one I'm going to now is part 61, but is at an airport with ATC. I'm a little nervous, but I'm excited at the same time. I'm also going to college to become an A&P mechanic so I can work on airplanes as a career, because I want a life completely based around aviation. Flying airplanes has been my passion since I was 10 years old, and I'm going to work hard to achieve my PPL, and my A&P license.

I can tell you why you should be doing the series, to show how capable a 182 can be. I am impressed at where you go and how quickly you get there with a basic plane. You are providing a road map for future pilots on how they can start with a reasonable plane, get places much faster than by car, see the world from above and then make the plane better and better with each new addition. You won’t go much faster or carry more stuff, but you will be safer and more comfortable now. Keep this up.

This has been one of the best videos to follow along with. I had my v- tail 35 panel and avionics upgraded but didn’t get too watch the process after the panel layout. I did the same and had all new everything done. This has been thrilling to see just how much go’s into the work and how hard the technicians work to get it done. Excited for part 4 to see the final results, like getting a new plane your going to love that new plane smell. Josh, your posting a video including a quick visit to the Spruce Creek Airpark and residences coincides with my re-reading this past week the July 2004 edition of Smithsonian Air & Space magazine which included an artlcle regarding the airport, its makeup, the differences and peculiarities, the residents, the aircraft, and all the goings on. Too bad the Fokker tri-plane mentioned in the article wasn't available for a little formation flying.

Howdy Josh, I have my GFC-500 at the bottom of the stack and have trouble seeing if the HDG Light is lit or not. I find myself leaning over to check it, or else wondering why the Autopilot isn't doing what I told it to do as both HDG and NAV lights can be on. So I see the NAV on, and leaning over, I can see the HDG on as well, explaining why the autopilot isn't doing the right thing. As I redo my panel, I am moving the GFC-500 to the top. BTW, I fly out of Georgetown, TX in a T210L

@19:15 As a contractor myself you have that mostly correct. However, especially in today's environment of materials, labor, random parts shortages, inflation etc, you can only pick ONE of those three. NOT two! That was the good old days, those are long gone. The new normal is, if you want a GOOD job it's going to be NEITHER cheap or fast. Need to take your time, and buy quality components. If you want a fast job, it's not going to be good or cheap. Not as good, because you're only doing a 'fix' not a true 'repair'. A repair is something you hope will be at least relatively permanent. A Fix is something you do so you can get the plane (or any other equipment) somewhat safely to a proper place to repair. An example would be an emergency engine out landing on a grass field. It's not going to be cheap at all to get the plane out of that farmers field, and you might say, have to replace a fuel pump or whatever so you can take off, and get the plane to a proper facility for a more permanent repair. Emergency fixes do have their time and place, as long as you the aircraft (or any general equipment) owner do not let that fix be permanent. Get it done correctly asap, as time and money allow. The reason for a fast fix not being cheap, is it costs extra money to pull someone off of another project to come and 'rescue' you. Think of the price difference between taking an Uber to a hospital ER versus just calling 911 and getting EMS to get you there. Or a lifeflight if you really have to be transported to a level 3 trauma center asap via rotary wing A/C is not going to be cheap. A Cheap job will not be good or fast, because to get the lowest labor costs, you're going to have to wait for someone to work on your project in their spare time. Sort of like getting sidejob Bob to fix your A/C when he's finished with his dayjob working full time at an HVAC company, plus you're going to try to save money by using aftermarker, or decent used parts etc. Sometimes cheap can be good, but not all the time, YMMV applies here. TL;DR version, Good, Cheap or Fast. You only get to pick one. And at least somewhat sacrifice the other two. The job they are doing here at DAS is 100% in the good category. Not cheap or fast, but it's done "right". And when you're life depends on those Garmin G3X's working properly, the last thing you want is some wiring mistake catching a harness on fire, and losing the entire panel just as you fly into IMC 🤣
