This week we are playing pattern roulette again - reusing pieces of my existing patterns to create something new! We only needed to modify the existing crochet patterns slightly in order to make a totally custom design.

The first one was actually giving me Chinese lion vibes :0 like the ones that people do dances with, so I found the monster seal to be quite cool!

@@ComplicatedKnots I was actually curious after watching so I had to Google it 😆 I thought it was quite interesting given that quite a few primates have tails. But I guess Gorillas are not the only primates without tail either. It is a topic I had not thought about ever until this morning 😆

I believe when it comes to primates - apes no tails, monkeys yes tails. That’s what I learned as a child so . . . 🤷♀️

Of the primates, none of the 'apes' have tails: gorilla, chimpanzee, human, orangutan, bonobo and gibbon. Its monkeys (old world and new world) that have tails - though not all of them.

@@BossLady_FiberArt All monkeys have tails, all apes lack tails. gorillas are apes not monkeys. other apes include chimpanzees, bonobos, and humans.

I think the first one was very unique and gave me a lickitung (the pokemon) vibe. The second one is sooooo cute. I want to make one for my own growing collection but maybe with the sparkly eyes instead. I love the third one. Tbh, I can't pick a favorite! As always you're amazing. You're one of my favorite crochet youtubers. (SkeinSpider is also a favorite)

The candy gremlin is of course my favorite, but I think the first guy sans tongue, or even with a smaller, different colored tongue, would be cool!!!

I I LOVE Monster Seal #1! It has an angry Pokemon vibe, but its still kinf of cute! But Candy Gremlin #2 is my FAVORITE

You keep roasting the Monster Seal, meanwhile they were my favorite just from how derpy it looked. The tongue adds a nice gluttonous vibe to the guy, which adds to the fun silliness of it.

My favorite was the # 3. It was just the cutest to me. I love the extra effort to give these guys some texture, it makes them more characterful

The spaghetti ratfish is my fave! And now I kinda want to see the monster seal but with the eyebrows instead of the ruffles as the detail. I reckon that would be just adorable! Maybe I'll make it myself... tho I'm not sure how well I'd do with reversing the crayfish pattern.

Thats the first thing I was going to change - I'd get rid if the ruffles, add the eyebrows, and make the tongue some kind of head fin.

I love your videos it's like my dram crochet channel. Would love to see these patterns again but you redising the plushies to make them how you would like them to be! Like this was like a "sketch" and then you make your final piece with all the details and modifications you want as if it was a Normal pattern design!!

That crazy lookin' dude reminds me of the 'merman' in the movie, Cabin in the Woods. Rat-fish is my fave. It's his little tail that gets me. I think he looks like a baby dragon. Only a Candy Gremlin would have the unmitigated gall to be that level of CUTE. He sucks you in with his 'innocence' and that's when he pounces!! .... and steals all your gummi bears. Candy Gremlin's lumpy peanut body made me think of one of those cute sea slugs.

I LOVE the monster seal! The head was so cute with the flappy mouth. The 3rd one was my 2nd fave. #2 was ok, I felt the eyes were a bit large for that ting bumpy body 😂

The Candy Gremlin really had the audacity to suck all the adorableness from the monster seal, who still deserves love and is special in his own way. I do also like the spaghetti rat fish. This series is so much fun!

If you made that first one a puppy that would have worked! With that big panting mouth and some floppy ears... You may have to move the fins off and make legs or just make him a dog fish!

How did you line up the puff stitches on the body?

I made the body piece last so I knew what the head would cover, and then I just made sure to carefully position the first two so that they were spaced properly. The rest were easy, I just had to use the first two to line them up.
