the vent draws air in and vents out the foot area is what my dealer told me

Is this a free update from Ski-Doo or a kit you can purchase if you choose to do so? I Have 1,400 miles on my '18 BCX with zero belt issues so far. I did take off the sound insulation and drill some additional holes in the clutch cover to help remove the heat.

How about chuckin the cover all together and just going with the vent in the panel and put the tools and belt elsewhere?

Its sucking air IN the new vent, and OUT the footwell :)

is there a lower part of the plastic cover that needs to be reused or do you only rivet on the top metal piece and have a complete cover?

You only reuse the aluminum shroud, fasten the a new plastic cvt cover in place and you’re good to go. No reusing previous plastic

I went to install mine and I found the 3 rivets for the front bracket didn't fit my rivet gun? You had mentioned you had to replaced the tip, would you happen to know what size you switched it too? Thanks for the help.

ahill7866 I don’t know the exact size but usually your rivet gun comes with different size fittings stored somewhere on it

Yeah I have 4 different sizes but for some reason those 3 rivets seem a bit larger than the 5 and does not fit into my Air rivet gun? Did you have to replace yours between rivets?

Seems most standard rivet guns don’t come with that size. I just used a smaller rivet.

How about just throwing the plastic piece away and putting your tools in your tool kit in your tunnel bag! Even better cooling

My belt temps are at 190° F with turbo so before going all-out with the update kit I wanted to see if I could saw a few holes in that match up with the hole for update kit vent and cover with pet screen and rivets. That way if temps are still high I can still add update kit using same panel. I'll call a dealer to see if they can get me a template file.
