I have a t-mobile galaxy s3. Anyone know if wifi-calling would still work with this? I have been researching and apparently no custom roms that I can find still support t-mobiles wifi calling. I am already rooted, removed some bloatware. only thing stopping me from running another rom is lack of tmo wifi calling :/

Great review of CM10! Regarding the shooting "angle" in your new place, it does contribute a different feel to the video, though it is subtle. The shot used at your summer location was very effective at placing the viewer "in the room" with you. Shooting across your desk doesn't do that as effectively and gives the video a less "personal" feel (which may be what you're after...). I encourage you to play around with it a bit more but, by all means, go with what suits you!

Hi Marques! It would be awesome if you could show us newbies how YOU setup your GS3 from stock touchwiz to Jellybean. Especially since I use a Mac and it looks like you do too. I used to use iPhone, now I have a GSM Nexus with Jellybean but I'm thinking of getting the GS3 and wanted to see how difficult it is to do without screwing anything up. Keep up your awesome videos, man. You make the best informative videos out there. And with excellent video quality, I might add. ;)

Dude, this is the info I have been waiting for. I am eligible for an upgrade but don't like any of the current options, mainly for software reasons. Galaxy S3 with stock was the closest thing to perfection that is out there. Now with your trusted recommendation I may be looking at getting this phone in my life on T mobile and downlowdingn CyanogenMod. Thank KB!

This rom is awesome, I just flashed it today and I was so happy to be running not only Android 4.2.2, I was running it stock! I don't think I'm ever going back to stock, unless, of course, I need to take my phone back to AT&T for some reason :)

I rooted and put CyanogenMod 10.1 on my s3 and I've been totally impressed and happy with it. I am quite happy with it. Fast, and it is much more similar to my Nexus 7 tablet now. Got the idea from watching this video. Thanks!

I would keep an eye out for the notification bar in this rom. The Galaxy s3 has an amoled display, and can be subject to screen burn-in. In amoled displays, the blue pixels burn in much faster than green or red, and in cyanogenmod, the time, battery, signal, etc are displayed in blue. In touchwhiz, these are displayed in amoled-friendly gray. You can check burn in by opening the dialer and pressing *#0*# and then selecting "blue"

You can still root it. If it has any Carrier logos anywhere on your phone. Just search on the root/rom/kernel process on your specific phone. Just go to the XDA Website and search for your phone specifically.

holding the button down will give you a list of running applications; from this point, you can swipe (left or right) to kill each and/or all apps that are running on the device. I believe you need to double press the button in order to get S Voice.

Jelly Bean updates has already been rolling out, at least for Sprint. I've been using it and it's basically the same except samsung's version has touchwiz overlay, folder options, and camera just to name a few.

About the angle, I couldn't see the Cheerios well enough. Anyway, your videos are always awesome.

The only thing I have noticed that doesn't work right now is the LED notifications. I have the build from 8/27. Not sure if I am just missing it in the settings or if it's planned for the future. Otherwise, I am really happy with it. It really does feel like a new device! Plus, it matches my Nexus 7 now. ;) haha

Cyanogenmod ALWAYS rules. I've used it on my previous phones, and will happier when I add it on my GS3. I just had to make sure it wouldn't ruin my camera. Thanks for this video.

Great job on the video! I'm taking my iPhone 5 back Thursday and getting a GS3 from verizon. Made a huge mistake in thinking that Apple would be better than my GNex. I miss my widigits!!

your eyes are so clear! just wanted to say that.

What you need to remember is that this mod works but you will lose all of the samsung influences so for the camera, best pic, best face, buddy share, low light etc. Premium suite features including snote, svoice and basically s-anything will all be gone. Also easy access to the task manager by long press home key also gone. Many of the features that make the S3 stand out are gone. The main thing I wanted was sphere cam which works fine and the phone is stripped back and runs quick and runs fine.

Okay thanks! I think it might be because I was using a third party battery. The OEM battery seems to be performing much better, hopefully that was the problem.
