I’m a registered nurse in South Florida looking into possible transition to Cyber Security. I heard that clearance can be expensive and that ISSO positions aren’t that available in my area. This is why brought me to your video.

RMF Trainning is 99% good for US government jobs and you need clearance in first place in order for you to get this jobs. Rmf training is good but not sufficient. No other public or private company will hire you with RMF only for cybersecurity jobs according to what I know so far. Check out! You need security+ , CISA or PCI or HIPAA training , could computing. they will never tell you this. So go for extra training. You jobs description they don’t mention CAP but the want CISA , security+.

You are partially correct when you said "RMF training is good but not sufficient". Same applies to every other IT/Cyber Security training, they are good but not sufficient. You will always need additional certifications/training to enhance your knowledge. You are wrong when you said RMF training is 99% for US government jobs. I can authoritatively tell you that RMF training is 50% for US government jobs and 50% Commercial Org jobs. I have countless students who have taken my RMF training and are working with Financial Institutions, Health Care, Consulting Firms(Big 4s) etc. ISC2 will be changing the name of the Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) certification to Certified GRC (CGRC) by february 2023 simply due to the fact that commercial organizations have embraced the RMF. You are also wrong - not all US government jobs requires security clearance. I have worked with multiple US government agencies that does not requires any security clearance.
