You should play the game, last night while playing i watched David BD, and found Becca's shotgun. Theres vids on KZfaq showing the places where the story of Edgerunners take place (because everything you see in the anime is present in the game, location, guns, gangs, cars, cyberwares... That's the brilliance of the anime, they didn't try to reinvent the wheel, they simply took the wheel and spin in a different road.

Her death wasn't the worst thing to happen from my perspective. Her brother is dead , her only love interest was in his way, and the rest of the team is either dead or betrayed her. Look at Lucy while she's on the moon in the end just miserable. Yeah life goes on ect ect but I say Rebecca died doing what she loved. Yelling and shooting it's could have been worse.

I watched it all in one night and I was so absorbed by the show. I was so sad and depressed at the end. Even if the Edgerunners went out as legends, they were just victims, and products of that monstrous city, which places no value on life. Watching David mangle his own body just to perform better was horrifying. By the end, barely anything of his original body remained. I find horrifying the idea of discarding my body parts just to improve myself. Maybe I would do it if certain parts of my body were failing hard and I had no alternative to survive, but David was healthy and he discarded his body parts without a second thought just to keep performing better and better, like an addict. Yes, I understand he wanted to protect his team, and was coping through the loss of his mother, but still... It's depressing. He was so young and had a lot of potential, but ended up like he did. On his terms, yes, but still the byproduct of a merciless, dehumanizing city.

I feel you. Rebecca should have lived, the ending wouldn't have changed at all. Her death was treated like an unnamed NPC goon and she was never brought up or mentioned again. That's easily the thing that stings the most for me. David's death is sad too, but predictable. Rebecca's just felt unnecessary, cruel and like it was just done for shock value.

@@firaelle6962 "Arcane" is based on League of Legends. "Castlevania", the title says it all. "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf" of course the Witcher is more than just a game. "DOTA: Dragon's Blood " is based on the game DOTA But all four of those were good, especially Arcane but I really liked the four seasons of Castlevania and the three seasons of DOTA as well although technically those adaptations didn't come out of a Japanese based studio. There is a Tekken Animation as well that I have not seen yet, that Is a anime as it comes out of Japan, although it is computer generated.

Before watching it, I genuinely thought it’ll be left with a cliffhanger with a possibility of a second season but I’m glad it was wrapped up the way it did. It’ll be nice if there’s more seasons, that they explore new stories and new characters in different parts of Night City.

@@guitarherops31 yeah, and the way they come about making the characters (like sasha from the amv’s), they can basically restart every season with a different cast, and still make it INCREDIBLE. This is my first anime too, and I’m loving it.

At first I didn’t vibe with the ending,but after a while I noticed how this show wouldn’t leave my brain and I don’t think it would leave such a strong impression if it wasn’t for that ending. You know when it hit you hard when you keep thinking about alternative scenarios for the characters you love so much since SPOILERS They all die at the end except for my poor Lucy with the worst ending of them all…

I think the ending proved David wasn't so special after all. David was young, naive and thought he was invincible. And yeah, a lot of us watching the show believed him. I have to rewatch again but that was my interpretation of it.

It's actually Lucy's fault. She chose not to tell David on what she's doing after David had a minor cyber psychosis episode, let alone ask for help. It led her to getting ambushed, tricking David to get inside the cyber skeleton against her will, and the death of David and Rebecca.

Decided to give the gAme a shot coz of the anime and the latest patch fixing the notoriously known bugs. Wisest thing I’ve done.

Nothing wrong with "acquiring" the game for free and if you like it, then buy it. Sort of like an unofficial Demo.

I wish I could get it for free as I'm still unwilling to spend cash. I will admit the anime made me wanna play the game but unfortunately I know I'm not gonna stick with it as it's just an over glorified futuristic GTA with a very empty repetitive world with RPG elements. :/ Someday hopefully it will get heavily discounted and needs to be a HEAVY discount for me to justify getting it. The only thing I wanna do is remake my OC using the games futuristic character styles. xD Hardly even worth $10 at most and that's generous.

agreed, lost my sister 2 years ago and the song "I Wanna Stay At Your House" has me in a wreck, the show didn't even hit me as hard as the love the two had for eachother. Seeing them not have a happy ending hurts my soul, and the song, - even the song name - tears me to pieces.

@@onesmileybaldy8303 I believe it will be a good investment in your time, the reason why it is considered a Sci-Fi is that it is an anime totally focused on time travel and it does it very well,not only involving 1 paradox but 3 temporal paradoxes in an understandable and extraordinary way,the first episodes are slow but they are building one of the best moments of the anime, it has a closed ending like cyberpunk, if you like it come back here if you can and say the iconic phrase of the protagonist.

Akudama Drive also one of the most recent cyberpunk genre that could rival Edgerunner. It is a very good anime as well.

@@deeznuts73 David is a tragic character but I think that his tragedy is exactly what makes him compelling. His dream was to realize the dreams of the people he loved the most, whatever the cost, Lucy above all and everything. In his perspective he succeded, but only by committing the ultimate sacrifice. I believe that, if this beautiful story is going to be continued, we will see more of David and Lucy, with David in a role similar to the one of Jhonny Silverhand. I hope so with all my heart because Edgerunners absolutely deserves a second season as much as David and Lucy deserve a second chance.

David is the anti-thesis of V (protagonist of the game). While V chases his dream at the expense of others, David chases someone or other's dream.

To me what it shows is not exactly "corporate greed" that exists there sure, but that is not what made a cyberpunk world exist, what makes it exist is the fact that capitalism stopped being a tool to be used for progress and started to be a parasite that makes people need to live in a world where things became unchangeable due it, it may sound ironic, but as chaotic as a cyberpunk is, it is dystopic exactly why you can safely say that the future won't change. Also this use of economic systems stop being a tool and start being a parasite is a dystopian thing that can happen with all economic systems, kinda wish there was more exploration about the universes created by the others

Then you failed to understand the message of the work you saw - yes, Adam Smasher is a psychotic bastard but ultimately he’s just a tool in the hands of another power above him: the only way attain meaningful retribution is to gun for the puppeteers that run this mad world of runaway mega-corporations and corrupt politicians - anything else just leaves you hacking at branches instead of going to the root of the problem.

The message of the show is to quit when you're ahead, which David could've easily done if he had more foresight. Scaled back his cyberware a bit, left night city with his crew and Lucy too.

imo its better than arcane, its indescribable, what i have to say is Edgerunner's only better aspect is music and everything on par. Edgerunners didnt gave you any breaks didnt hold your hand and tossed you in the middle of it, everything is fast paced which can be a negative or positive, because when those things pile up and finally had time to mull over things everything hits you. its fast paced, precise and thats what makes it great

@@MohamIsMe This is, in my honest opinion, a show to be enjoyed in one sitting. Longevity would make it very forgettable because of how much happens in a single episode. If episode 6 and up were weekly tho, they would be amazing ngl.
