I don't think we're getting any more cyberpunk content. But Phantom Liberty was successful and well received. So I also wouldn't be surprised.

Big Warhammer lore guy here. Back in the day I would have said the best way to get into the setting would be with the Ciaphas Cain novels. Although they are still great now a days I would recommend checking out some great KZfaqrs, my favorite being Luetin09 absolute masterclass in storytelling and lore exploration, he’s been making videos for the better part of a decade and still puts out stuff regularly. For more bite-sized content Majorkill is good, he takes a little getting used to, but he’s a nerd at heart. Others I’d recommend would be Sandman of Terra, it almost seems like full hour lecture of GW lore, weshammer is also solid, if you are more interested in the micro happening of the imperium, he narrates usually short horror stories that even non 40k fans would enjoy, pancreasnowork is a funny yet informative channel focused mostly on 40k but he also dabbles into AOS, and fantasy, if at all interested in the tabletop he usually gives a good explanation of that factions viability at the end. Anyways I’m glad you have some curiosity towards the setting!

For Warhammer 40k I always recommend the Eisenhorn audiobook series. Or Ciaphas Cain if you want something a little bit more light-hearted.

If Cyberpunk came out in its present state in 2020, I have no doubt it would sweep every award. In my opinion, it is an even greater achievement than their last hidden gem. This game is utterly brilliant.

Would be cool to just be a base addition for Cyberpunk 2. Start the game on the moon in one of the cities, make your long journey back to night city. Could have that nostalgic feeling seeing it once again

Would be cool if cyberpunk 2 started on the moon in one of those cities, then they could keep Night City and all that work because you could take a shuttle to earth. Then later they can add DLC with the moon as the hub to different places in different countries on earth. That would be amazing.

I'll give you some more Cyberpunk leaks that I know from you know I can't say The Moon wasn't even supposed to be a DLC. It was supposed to be an area in the main game. Another area that got gutted during development was the sewers - they were supposed to be a real zone with NPCs, quests, hobos living there, its own culture. They were supposed to be way more developed and in the end we got a bunch of corridors.

I’m also a Warhammer 40k noob, but found Rogue Trader that released last year to be a great intro to the lore. They took the Obsidian CRPG approach of using tooltips in dialogue that the player could use to refresh or dive deeper into the lore, which I think is a great way to capitalize on the medium and help introduce people to the crazy lore of 40k. If you want to look at Warhammer 40k lore, the best way to prepare for Space Marine 2 (knowing what is going on) is probably to look up the "Battle for Maccrage" on wikipedia. A short account of why Space Marines might be fighting Tyranids and what their general enmities are as well as how deadly they are. It is important to note the size and scale of the Tyranid invasion. A lot of Games Workshop lore is from the viewpoint of the amateur historian (first hand accounts or people self-aggrandizing firsthand accounts), but the theory is that their hive fleet tendrils are like fingers reaching up to grip the entirety of the known universe (think of a giant hand squeezing the galaxy). So, very vast. If you can get your hands on an earlier edition rulebook from the internet for a few bucks, perusing the first 30 or so pages of the lore will give you a good idea of what's going on. The lore in the big rulebook is well written across all editions.

I'm actually playing Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time so was excited about another DLC so sad it's not a thing. Can't believe I sat on this for so long as it's pretty great so far.

Kind of interesting referring to the Mario & Luigi game as being a co-operative experience, even though it's a single player RPG. You could make a case for it being that you play as Mario & Luigi...but then you could say that every RPG out there is a co-op experience...Just an odd little detail to pick at I guess

What am I playing? I'm actually playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PC in rotation with Overwatch's new season. I usually don't like playing two FPS's at a time, but Overwatch is actually exciting this season and Cyberpunk feels like an RPG, so.... I'm LOVING it. Finally sunk my teeth into Cyberpunk and I'm glad I am. Elden Ring might be after I finish Cyberpunk.

I'm trying to get all my games over to PC and get off consoles, but games are still too expensive on PC vs console. Like I recently thought about Starfield, even after all the bad reviews. I can snag it for 20 bucks on a console, but it is still 60 on PC. Same for many titles including Elden Ring. Way cheaper on consoles. I just won't pay 70 bucks for a base game... with the exception of maybe a proven franchise, but even then I'd have to wait for reviews so I don't get burned like I did on Far Cry 6. I'll likely never play a new Ubisoft game and just go into their back catalog for games I skipped over.

You guys should talk about Steam Fest! A lot of cool demos dropped last week and this would help share some light on the indie scene more! The ones that stuck out to me the most were; Amanda the Adventurer 2, Dungeons of Hinterberg, and Once Human.

Honestly, I feel a good start for people who know nothing about 40k is actually Bricky's Every Warhammer 40k faction explained videos. Gives you an overview, shows you what factions you may want to look more into, etc. etc.

I’ve been playing baldur’s gate 3 for the first time. I’ve been playing games since I was 3 back in 2000 and I’ve explored such a wide array of genres and types, this game baffles me. It makes me take the role play side so seriously because I’ve never got to experience an rpg this in depth. DnD almost makes you creat a person in your head, when you make choices they aren’t what you would do, they are what your character would do and it’s an experience I’m loving so much.

One guy I know who makes great warhammer 40k content is Bricky. He's made a few lore Videos that will help ease you into warhammer without throwing too much at you, while talking about all the major factions and what their all about. Hope this helps and you enjoy the warhammer content.

First 40k book I read was a book called “path of the Warrior” by Gav Thorpe. It’s not even a space marine book but you get to see the space marine through the eyes of a filthy xenos. It was a pretty cool book. Would also recommend the Eisenhorn series. Cool space detective saga.

Warhammer is so overwhelming with so much lore at this point. I recently go into about a year ago. My advice, just start listening to some lore videos about something’s that you think sound interesting and then build your knowledge from there. If you want to go crazy though, there are over 300 books but the lore videos are good enough for getting started. FOR THE GOD-EMPEROR!!!!!

Played Still Wakes The Deep. SSSSSOOOOOO good. I actually cared about all of the characters the entire time. It was just REALLY short. You can knock it out in about 4 hours. Every bit of that 4 hours was awesome though.

I would recommend as a casual new fan to warhammer 40k you start with bricky's videos, namely his factions explained part 1 & 2. They are somewhat long with each around 50 minutes but tell allot while being funny and memorable even if not the most accurate, it should get the main points across even if you need repeated watches to absorb it all. His timeline video is also good & finishing off with his space marine legions vid doesn't hurt. But if you want more indepth you can't go any deeper than luetin09. In between those two I would recommend Wes-hammer for serious style & edge lore (especailly his horror stories) or majorkill for his far less serious australian (partly) exagerated take on things. Pancreasnowork is a fairly good 40k game/lore based channel that has broad looks at other series like warhammer fantasy and age of sigmar but would mildly suggest looking into his videos after some of my earlier suggests.

Yeah, the Cyberpunk Moon DLC news really doesn't surprise me. At all. Mentions of space and the moon was pretty much everywhere in the game, there is an astroport in Night City... I mean, it was pretty implied that at one point they wanted to go there. It's a shame we can't have that. I would have absolutely loved a moon DLC. Oh well, maybe in CyberPunk 2. Man can hope.

I really hope this gets shifted to the sequel. Without spoilers, it would have very interesting story implications, and could use one or two of the endings to make cannon and go from there. Sure, they'd have to write themselves out of a hole, but that happens all the time.

For 40k I'd recommend The Dark Imperium book trilogy as it focuses on the Ultramarines (which are the stars of the Space Marines game). If you want to figure out why the setting is the way it is, you can read some of the Horus Heresy, starting with the book Horus Rising. remember that CDPR promised that Cyberpunk 2077 was gonna get the same amount of DLC's as the Witcher 3 so the Witcher 3 had 2 large expansions so its not really a surprise that they originally had another expansion planned out for Cyberpunk 2077.

I started my Warhammer journey with the Dawn of War RTS game. It and its expansions were a great introduction to most of the factions. I still remember the hours I spent pouring over the Wiki to learn more. I'm still not big into the actual physical tabletop game or the fandom. I try to stay out of the fandom for things I enjoy for my own mental health, and the physical stuff is a big money sync. But I always enjoy a new Double A action game under the IP.

I literally just finished my first cyberpunk 2077 play through, and it was actually amazing. I choose the “go back to earth” ending, so I will keep on playing for a bit longer, but damn, this game does not disappoint. Just had the courage, now that the game has waaaaay less bugs

As someone who has been playing warhammer and warhammer 40k since middleschool let me start by saying that getting into the table top game is very expensive and requires a lot more involvement than one might initially expect. While they are not 40k (and I desperately want them to be) I would actually advise the Total War games for anyone looking to dip their toes into the Warhammer world. - Amazing character models - Great management and fighting mechanics - Varied factions to fit your playstyle - Different campaigns and modes If you bought all three games and every expansion it would be quite expensive (somewhere around $460) but as someone coming from the tabletop game, you could spend ten times that on a single army. Personally, I have the first two games and several of the DLCs and will probably pick up a few more next time they are on sale. One thing I like is that if you buy a faction in one game then you get that content in the next game. In conclusion, the table top game is awesome but a bit daunting to get into. The Total War Warhammer games are also awesome but unfortunately there is no 40k version. If you just wanted to get a sense of the lore, there are plenty of summaries on KZfaq. I am a life long fan of the Warhammer universe and love that it is slowly becoming more mainstream.

Cyberpunk is such an amazing game once they fixed all the bugs. And one ending involves V going to the moon so it would be so cool to actually go there.

I'm bouncing back and forth between Erdtree and SMT 5V. Both of em hit that RPG itch beautifully. I almost with MP4 had been delayed to be a Switch 2 only title, that way it could be dedicated to the new and hopefully drastically more powerful hardware. After the crap of Switch games not handling framerates for things...

There is nowhere to "start" with warhammer. That's like asking where to "start" with League of Legends. Except League is less expensive to buy all the champions than it is to get one army with 40k (excluding 3d printing, if you don't include the cost of the printer). You find something you find interesting, and look up more about it. It will often include references to other things, and if they also peak your interest, check them out as well. You like space marines? Look up the chapters. Get the 1-sentence briefs on them, and see what you would like to know more about. You like undead? You like life-destroying not-magic ray guns? Then look up the Necrons. You like random BS that doesn't make sense, but it's magic, so "Screw it we're here to fight"? Then look up orcs.

Big Warhammer fan. I started by watching WesHammer do his videos, just whatever grabs you. After that I started the audio books. I recommend Cadia Stands to start. Fun war book, sets the scene of the stakes well.

At the moment, I am back to Starfield. Been playing quite a bit of it over the weekend, just exploring and stuff. Planning on jumping on Still Wakes the Deep, as I am very interested in that one, being Scottish and working on an oil rig for 17 years, although not much scary stuff happened to me out there, well, except the work!!

Definitely think that Moon DLC was planned from the beginning as well as crystal palace, but with the state of the game at launch, and the amount of time it took to fix it, there wasn't enough time to do anything more than phantom liberty. It sucks but oh well...

Since the 2024 gaming year is light, I’ve been playing older games: Dying Light 2, Uncharted 4, Horizon Forbidden West. Maybe make a video reminding us of games that came out a couple years ago that are cheaper?

Best place to start with anything 40k imo is Space Marine (the og game), the book series Devastation of Baal, the Eisenhorn series or the 1st Horus Heresy book: Horus Rising

I'd recommend adeptus ridiculous KZfaq channel for 40k lore, they do it in episode podcast format so for the most part you can jump in where ever you find interesting and one of the hosts originally had no knowledge on 40k so it's also an intro series
