Das wäre einmal Sterzing mit seinem historischen Zwölferturm, die Bischofsstadt Brixen mit seinem Dom und dem Kreuzgang und der Hofburg sowie das mittelalterliche Künstlerstädtchen Klausen mit dem Kloster Säben hoch über der Stadt. Die Route führt an der alten Bahntrasse und am Eisackufer entlang. Daher kannst du neben bewohntem Lebensraum auch längere Abschnitte durch die Natur genießen. Schließlich erreichst du die größte Stadt des Landes: Bozen, der kulturelle Schmelztiegel von Nord und Süd. Erlebe seine einmalige Stimmung auf dem Obstmarkt in der historischen Altstadt, wo auf Deutsch und Italienisch gefeilscht wird, in den Restaurants, wo sich Knödel und Pasta treffen, oder in der Landschaft zwischen Palmen und Dolomiten.

C’è Vipiteno con la sua storica Torre delle Dodici; la città vescovile di Bressanone con il suo duomo, il chiostro del Palazzo Vescovile; e la città medievale degli artisti di Chiusa con il Monastero di Sabiona che la sovrasta. Il percorso si snoda lungo la vecchia linea ferroviaria e le rive dell’Isarco, conducendoti così attraverso centri abitati e lunghi tratti nella natura. Al termine del percorso, raggiungerai la città più grande dell’Alto Adige: Bolzano, vero crogiolo di culture tra nord e sud. Se vuoi scoprirne gli aspetti più autentici, visita la Piazza delle Erbe nel centro storico, dove si contratta in italiano e in tedesco, fermati nei ristoranti dove si incontrano pasta e canederli o puoi semplicemente ammirare il paesaggio tra palme e cime dolomitiche.

This cycling route stretches from the Alps to the threshold of the Mediterranean: from the Brenner Pass on the Austro-Italian border to the provincial capital of Bozen/Bolzano. Divided into stages, the 96 km cycling route along the old railway line on the banks of the Eisack river passes through historic settlements. Medieval towns, such as Sterzing/Vipiteno with its Zwölferturm tower, Brixen/Bressanone with the 11th Century cathedral and the Hofburg Diocesan Museum, and the artists’ town of Klausen/Chiusa with the imposing Säben Monastery are all worth visiting. Besides the built-up areas, there are also longer stretches of countryside, peppered with rural hamlets. The route leads to Bozen/Bolzano, the provincial capital of South Tyrol: a cultural meeting ground of north and south. At the bustling fruit and vegetable market in the old town centre, traders and customers haggle in German and Italian, while nearby restaurants serve dumplings and pasta alike. And garden walks and promenades are lined with palm trees - all this and more under the gaze of the majestic Dolomites.
