Join me as I take you on my training journey for my upcoming ride in Majorca. With less than 3 weeks left until the big day. This past week has been solid, and I even managed to sneak in an extra day of riding outside. With the weather starting to warm up, I can finally ditch some layers and look cool with my pit vipers on! 😎
Looking ahead, this week is crucial for me to get some decent intensity in before I start tapering. I'm planning to do back-to-back 100-mile rides, and I'm interested to see how I'll do and recover from one day to the next.

I'm hoping to get a decent ride in this weekend before starting the taper. I've done a few 100km plus rides and being practicing on bike fuelling to help plan the 312 strategy. Cheap and cheerful flapjacks and Soreen bars are working for me Hoping to do the full 312 and heading out on the 26 so hopefully a couple of nice easy rides before the event.

Great stuff! I have also decided to go with the 225k version, which should still be a solid 7h+ of high intensity riding, so more than enough for me anyway :) I haven't done any rides over 3h and 120kish this year though, so hope I can get 1-2 of those in before Mallorca as well. This sounds like you won't be doing much intensity in the last 2 weeks leading up to the race or did I misunderstand this? I was planning to go to Mallorca on the 22nd and do 1-2 big rides there as well, an easy short one on the 26th and then two days of recovery (just some openers on Friday). Do you think thats too much? Also would be really interested in your nutrition strategy during these big training weeks (day of eating kind of thing) but also your strategy for the race itself :) Cheers!

Nice one choosing the 225! I’ll check later this week what I’ll be doing in the final 2 weeks (and record it of course!). But I think I will be not going too hard on the training. Good call on nutrition - I need to firm this up. I have some energy bars, energy drink mix, hydration tabs, etc. just need to figure out how to carry it all! I’ll look into this more 👍
