The setup for a fixed center gear on the Cycloid Drawing Machine. This has a gear orbiting a fixed center gear.

It's a cool kit. I had a Spirograph when I was a kid back in the 1970's. Not a new idea, but still a fun kit.

Kevin Loughin I also get Spirograph in 1971,I was 9 years old and got it as a christmas present.I loved it very much.

I had one as well, but I always found it difficult to complete patterns without "skipping a tooth"

The second largest gear (which is the large one below the small fixed gear) must be about 100 & not the 50 mentioned as that would not work. Otherwise a good video of a brilliant machine. It is hard to believe there are dislikes.

( sorry my English in hard for me to exprime my self in words ) First I want to say , very cool video , I would like to have a machine like this... Please , let just tell you all something, I wonder if someone else when close there eyes see geometric patterns ? Because every time a close my eyes even for few seconds I see all this different geometric patterns... I wonder why and I wonder is this happens with you ?

This got waaay toooooooooooo complicated after the first three steps. But its very cool. Who the crap thought this up and was able to pull it off? My old spirograph would always get in a bind and not work smoothly.
