As a Korean born Aussie I experienced the anti China narrative for many many years and gradually developed a sympathy for them when the rest of the country were losing empathy for the Chinese. I've visited China four times and saw different regions. Every time I've visited... I've seen big improvements. I would even be bold enough to say that the major cities in China are now overall cleaner looking than the major cities in the US. For one example, I've visited public parks in Dalian and was amazed at how clean they look. No litter or graffiti anywhere... even the skateboard rink looks clean. And there are lots of people out there enjoying the parks... but seem to have respect for the facilities there. Where I live, public parks are often vandalized and abused. When I return home and tell my co-workers about my travels to China.... they refuse to believe me or the pictures I took. They just want to believe that I was shown around a "fake city" built for showing tourists. The fact that I was walking around these cities unescorted... still won't change their beliefs. No, these people still want to believe that China has "backward smoggy cities, where everyone still rides bicycles and wear grey old clothes because they are all poor and starving". I often hear ignorant statements such as: "The poorest Americans still live better than the average Chinese". The irony is these people never traveled to China or even want to watch these videos. And yet... these folks talk like they are all "China experts'. Very sad... and infuriating at the same time.

This is an awesome video. As a Canadian (originally from Croatia) this opened up my eyes in about China. When I read the Ottawa Citizen, the overwhelming amount of articles in regards to China is negative (propaganda and fear). If I was to do a similar video of downtown Ottawa (like Cyrus did), you would see drug addicts shooting up, people in a hurry, and a very limited amount of smiles on peoples faces. The youtuber, Mr.Janssen, he is working for CCP now, this is not a secret in China. To be honest, China is a very safe place, if you come to China, you are supposed to stay with rich people, they are very polite, very friendly, very wise, but poor people in China, some of them are kinda crazy like the CCP leader Xijinping. when youtry to make friend with them, you may have to reiterate, again and again, in your everyday life, you have to admit that China is the best country in world, China will definitely beat up America, Chinese people do nothing, but they will be the winners in future as the president Xi leads the country. Well it was 2005 and youtube hadnt Channels like yours so i had no Idea what I will meet there. I was so impressed how I was welcomed by the strangers in the streets. In Shanghai I wasnt able to read my booklet I got with historical chinese Textes my friend gave me (in English of course). All the students in the Parc were coming to talk with me. So China for me was love at the first view (or maybe feeling). I felt at home there. Since that time I was several times in different places in China but my Experiences always were the same. So you were right saying go to China see it yourself. I guess that would help a lot! I am so much hoping to be back as soon as possible. So many places are waiting for me to be explored.

@@joshlewis575 Cyrus Janssen's message that if U.S and China cooperate, then the whole world benefits from this cooperation. Are you saying that Cyrus' message of peaceful cooperation is the same talking point as the CPC? Then isn't this a positive message for the world?

Good job, Cyrus, a little bit history of the place you look at. It is The exact Place where it witnessed China's a hundred years humiliation. (Huang Pu Jiang Kou- or 黄浦江口 in Chinese). The river mouth saw Western Gun Boats and Japanese warship sailing through, and it saw the western nations carved many small nations/or concessions not far from that river bank, and it saw a sign with "Chinese and Dogs are not allowed" in front of those concessions. Not to hate no one, but to remind all Chinese that we will not let it happen again.

Many Chinese warmly welcome Westerners to our lands as visitors. However, many Westerners (but not all) are increasing regarding Chinese in their lands as unwelcome.
