I can’t really judge, since I own neither a PS3 nor PS5, but what do you think the Storm Ruler gimmick does right in Demons’ Souls that it doesn’t in Dark Souls 3? Because I’ve seen the Yhorm fight get bashed for style over substance, and that’s largely because of the Storm Ruler.

Jack here, so, personally I like Yhorm a decent amount and think he’s way overhated. I think the difference is the grandiose of the Storm King as well as the legitimate difficulty whereas Yhorm, if you have the speedrun strat nailed down, can be knocked out in 25-35 seconds. This Storm King really kicks ass as well, whereas the original did not.

Alex here, my answer is that the Storm King fight takes longer so it has more time to imprint, I also like Yhorm more than most people, and it looks great in the demons souls remake. The competition in Demons Souls is also really not that fierce imo, I think it’s the worst game in the series by a long shot.

Thoughts: Dragon God: Definitely agree with last, he's disappointing, boring and tedious and he's pretty much the father for Bed of Chaos: Armour Spider: Same as what I said last time. True King: Also same. Vanguard: I think he's a good tutorial boss, so I also think he should be higher. Old Monk: Highly depends on the player, he can be fun or be frustrating. Leechmonger: I think this boss I have to say the least in the entire series. Adjudicator: Damn it, just when I found other people who like the Adjudicator. Phalanx: I love the creativity, a bunch of ooze creatures forming a phalanx, that's really cool and this boss is fairly fun as well. Old Hero: He is easy, but I don't think that should mean much, as you probably fight him fairly early. I like fighting him, it always feels pretty tense. Maiden Astraea and Garl Vinland: Definitely agree with this one, Vinland is fun to fight and the music. Dirty Colossus: After 5-2, I'll take any boss that isn't terrible. Maneaters: This is closer to where I would place them personally. Fool's Idol: I love the music for this fight, in fact, she and Tower Knight are tied for my favourite themes in this game, this is also the best clone fight in the series. Flamelurker: This boss is my favourite, the AI has never been that bad for me, I actually did a magic build, and he kept jumping over my blasts which was annoying but cool. I just realised, he kinda fights like an ape. Tower Knight: This is one of the best spectacle fights in the series, only Rykard, Placidusax, Storm King and Divine Dragon are better imo. Old King Allant: He's like Artorias mixed with Nameless King, so he's automatically great for that. Penetrator: Again, easy but fun. Storm King: He's surprisingly dangerous without his lackeys. But this is just pure terror, these giant, flying manta rays shooting at you like TIE fighters and the King shooting at you like a star destroyer.

Nice video! My ranking 18) Adjudicator (I like the concept and it's cool the first time. But he is so boring and pointless and his soundtrack in the new one is not great) 17) Leechmonger (can't see) 16) true king Allant (lore boss!) 15) Vanguard (strafe left: the boss) 14) phalanx (cool boss, but sort of boring) 13) Old Monk offline (that's an archdemon?) 12) Armored Spider (fun gimic I won't lie) 11) Fool's Idol (pinwheel but it's good) 10) Dirty Colossus (pretty good design and moveset for a demons souls boss) 9) Dragon God (ooo a hot take, I actually like this guy, it's like bed of chaos but good) 8) Old Hero (actually fighting him as intended, all stealthily, it's pretty fun) 7) Penetrator (the ancestor knight style fight, gotta love em) 6) Man-eaters (quite the fun fight with a good design and challenge, a bit janky tho) 5) Maiden Astraea (what an atmosphere!) 4) Flamelurker (damn he is so annoying, but damn is his arena metal) 3) Storm King (best spectacle fight in gaming. But not much challenge) 2) Tower Knight (he's just cool) 1) Old King Allant (highest quality fight in the game with a good challenge, and a mechanic unique to him that hasn't been repeated. The souls drain. He's just a really good straightforward boss)

Late af but happy anniversary! Can't wait to see you guys grow cause this is quality stuff. Have you guys played Souls adjacent games like Nioh, Lords of the Fallen, The Surge etc. I only ask because you covered Jedi Fallen Order which while admittedly is easier to work with since it's Star Wars but I can tell y'all really enjoy this style of game and wondering if you played other non-FromSoft Souls games

Jack here, if Blasphemous counts (maybe a video soon…) then yeah. I personally am not a big fan of Soulslikes, take Mortal Shell or like you said Nioh, as they feel underwhelming and if anything just failed attempts at trying to be a Dark Souls game.

ah, yeah I mean tbh I don't have the patience for Souls games so I'm not going to speak on what I'm unfamiliar with, but from what I've heard from friends they kinda just seem like pale imitations of the gameplay without actually creating an interesting world to underscore the universe. Having played Jedi Fallen Order though I actually like that a lightsaber actually feels powerful so the Souls like gameplay I think is less of an imitation and more of an application that makes sense in universe

@@aarontruong354 Alex here, I own both Nioh games but have yet to try ether one. I did enjoy Code Vein which is another soulslike game, which I'll probably cover sometime in the distant future. If I like the Nioh games they'll probably get talked about, but I have some doubts. Glad you like our videos, more to come as always!

Yeah, Fallen Order is more of a reinterpretation than an imitation which makes it feel more fluid and comfortable to play for sure.

the arena is small, the boss has attacks based around limiting core gameplay mechanics, and he does nothing exceptionally exciting. it's our opinion and I'm glad you enjoy it, sorry to say it but you're opinion is not the objective fact

@@Cytonox Of course my opinion is not a fact. I was just stating it, I didn't mean to sound aggressive. But anyway, the small arena is perfect for the way the fight is meant. It does not limit core gameplay, it enhances dodging, spacing and pattern recognition. I agree with most of the placements, but this one is a hard disagree. Which is fine.
