I picked up a cz bobwhite g2 double barrel side by side hunting shotgun in 12 gauge 3" a couple weeks ago, and while I dont normally do gun reviews, there isnt alot about this great shotgun on youtube and so I thought I would review it. I also go over the sling swivel kit I put on it. caltoncutlery.com

Nice review. Mine was also a little tight at first but broke in nicely. I couldn’t be happier with mine.

Thanks for taking the time to make a comprehensive review! It really is difficult to find much on CZ Shotguns. I have a 612 Field that I’ve been using the last three seasons now for upland and duck hunting. It’s a great, light, 870 copy! This coming year, I plan on picking up a CZ Bob White G2 All-Terrain in 20ga for the 2024-2025 upland hunting season. I’ve always loved the look of SxS shotguns. They’re nostalgic and sexy.

Appreciate you posting this, liked the presentation style and honest pros/cons of this Turkish shotgun. I'm looking at getting one and this was the only "real" review I found on YT. I would love an update once you've spent a season with it.. Thanks, from Ontario.

The 20ga bobwhite is a dream to carry and works well for me on flushing shots on woodcock, quail and rabbits on the run from beagles too, just use heavier loads for tough swamp rabbits

A tight lockup is usually a sign on rough bearing surfaces on some lower end guns.On some it means attention to detail during the fitting process.Tight is not a bad thing in a new firearm.

Nice shotgun! We shoot cowboy and the bobwhite is in the mix. I like piettas coach guns. I own a bunch of CZ rifles and handguns really nice quality. Our 4h group loves the 22lr rifles. Enjoy

It's nice to find a fitting shotgun out of the box. My beretta has been adjusted for drop and cast twice and it still hits me a in the cheekbone. It's alright for hunting but a session at the range will give me a bruised cheek for a few days.
@joecalton1449
@joecalton1449 11 ай бұрын
yes I was pretty happy that this one doesnt beat my cheek up. that winchester 1300 was rough, so I never liked shooting it, then tried out a maverick 88 on a whim, and even at a much lighter weight, it didnt slap my cheek and had a much lower stock. so I went back and put a taller bead on the winchester and then made a rear sight for it, and now we get along very well. so maybe a taller bead or different sights for your beretta might help? i know it sucks to have a gun that you like but dont get along with.

The instructer at the range suggested inletting the stock and fitting a foam insert to take the bite out of it. Might give it a go but seems like a shame on a nice walnut stocked shotgun. For now it's ok as i'm not using it much. Most of my spare time is taken up with rifle hunting for wild boar, roe deer and the odd red deer. Use a CZ for that

It’s always finding a shotgun with the right comb height and length of pull for me. One of the products that really helped is the beartooth comb riser 2.0. As well as their recoil pad. The comb riser allows you to install foam via a neoprene sleeve and the foam can be layered and adjusted multiple times and it’s removable without damaging your stock. The recoil pad is the same principle…will allow you to “lengthen” the stock for a more accurate length of pull. I hope that helps.

That's funny. I have the same gun in 20 gauge. I did the exact same thing with the sticky note. You looked like you held my sticky note up in front of my Face. Your action looks a little bit like when you go to open it. I think it goes smoothly once it starts. I think the back of the barrels up against the receiver. fit snug and tightly together. I believe the hinging action is smooth. If that seems To make sense to you.

Great review. I own this very shotgun, and for the same reasons you do, but chickened out and had a gunsmith install the sling swivel studs. Could not be happier. How many inches from the forearm did you place your front sling swivel stud?

i took it back out yesterday and ran some winchester 1 oz slugs, factory 2 3/4" 00 buck, and some remington magnum 3" 41 pellet #4 buck through it. the #4 buck had the most recoil. while it was stiff, it was not painfull by any means. that stock lets the shotgun come straight back into my shoulder and not into my face.

Don’t do the midbead. I have taken all mine off. I replace the front with a high viz just so I know where I’m at and the rest will come naturally. You will eventually not look at the bead.

they are made in Turkey for CZ. That's why i didn't purchase it. I've had two turkish made guns(stoeger m3k and a kral pcp) both had issues right away. extremely bad reliability. stoger's charging handle fell in the field, ftf, fte issues, messy patterns. kral pcp valve failed in a month.

sorry to hear of your trouble with those. this bobwhite is doing pretty well, and is smoothing out nicely. the other cz that I had was a 527 american I think, and was a great rifle, nice looking, accurate, nice trigger, but it had a detachable box magazine that stuck out right at the balance point when i carried it and drove me to sell it off.

Pretty nice gun, choke tubes, and a case too... my first CZ shotgun and I'm impressed (love the 75 too)...

@@steamtrainrollon2060 * Single trigger double shotguns are preferred for target shooting, or where game is shot only at a known distance, i.e. birds shot only over a pointing dog, or pass shooting birds at long distances, in these situations a double barrel gun that is choked the same in each barrel is okay, but for an all around bird gun, double triggers give the hunter the quickest option available in order to produce the best killing pattern. No single selective trigger system has ever been devised to equal the speed and efficiency of the double trigger.

Say what you want, never had a single issue or wish I had something different. My cz has been reliable, swings nice, is a good price, and lightweight. Killed hundreds of birds across multiple states. There's probably something "better" but I don't ever feel the need that I need to spend an extra thousand bucks for something with minimal improvements or accessories.

Just look at the reviews on sportsman's warehouse for this gun. Pretty much all positive

im not sure about that on this one. the rib on this one is hollow so shortening it might be a bit more than just sawing it off and installing a new bead. but they do make the coach guns which are alot shorter stragiht from the factory.
