I agree,never live your life in-FEAR.I did 11 yrs & 3 months as a contracter over-seas ( Iraq,Qatar,Kuwaitt & Afghanistan ) first as a mercenary,then logistics.We went to the most remote places in the middle -east and went to some places the US military couldn't go and did some things the US military couldn't go. I'm back in the US now and most americans are soooo afraid to do anything out side their comfort zone. Afraid to try anything new or different,all because of-FEAR.

I am black and from Colombia. I was born in a town with a majority of blacks in its population percentage. You did not go to the more afro Colombian culture location. The city where you are has afrocolombian culture but it is not pure at all because it has influences of another instruments from around colombia, not typical of the original afrocolombian culture. The most afro Colombian cultural locations are in the south of the Colombian Pacific coast with its large population community in Buenaventura. Buenaventura is bigger, more populated, and much important for Colombian trade nationally e internationally. From Buenaventura, following the coast to the south until the city of Tumaco, you will see the more afro Colombian culture. About security, Qubdó Chocó, the city where you are, is not dangerous, I mean is like every city in Colombia. Buenaventura is dangerous but not at all, I mean compared to those dangerous cities in the rest of the American continent.

This was a great video. You do a great job of incorporating history from a Black vantage point especially in places like Choco. I think that’s something highly appreciated by us Black folk from the states. We from the states have a want and a desire to find people who look like us and to connect with and establish some type of brotherhood/sisterhood or camaraderie . I lived in both Choco and Medillin. I gravitated to Choco b/c I saw people who looked like me. I have to be honest though. There is a culture there of kindly 🔩 screwing you over. I'm not saying this to be negative and I’m not saying to not visit but be aware. Many Black Americans 10 years ago came and left that place but didn’t put their negative experiences on the internet. If you stay there long enough you will collectively experience and find out more so that there is a lot more under the surface. Similar to the guy who put those brothers on that boat. That guy wanted their dollar and pretended to be dumb and took them in circles. My advise would be for those who watch your great content especially Black Americans about Choco (or any part of Colombia) to not buy any land or any type of property because honestly those who may be telling you to buy there don’t actually own the land themselves even if they present what looks like legit paperwork. After staying their for over 6 months I was told by Colombians from Choco that their is a saying that they have their about themselves. And that saying I was told was “we Colombians lie just to lie”. Interpret that however you see fit. Have lots of fun while there and continue to produce great videos and content.

I heard such things my entire life to not go to certain areas in specific countries and when you go anyway you have a great time with the locals who really like you taking the time to visit them. Same in Venezuela where they advise you to not go to certain parties but they are a blast

Hey Czech been watching your journey since Mexico and really admire the work you put in to show case alll these places we need to see as Black people. You should come check out the Garifuna. people in Belize and learn their stories. There's also Livingston Guatemala with a large Garifuna population. I think this would interest you very much to learn about how these people came to be in this area by traveling on boats they made to Honduras ,Guatemala & Belize from St. Vincent in search of a better life. It could be a whole new series for you and very interesting since Belize is only English speaking country in Central America. Keep up the good work.
