There comes a time when a professional baseball player realizes that his mind is up for the task at hand, but the body is a more than a fraction behind in movement, I believe Goldie is going through that breakdown body wise, he's also missing a bunch of pick-ups at first base......in the past he was a vacuum at first!!!!!..........hopefully he'll snap outta this mental and physical SLUMP..........HE'S A GOOD PERSON AND EXCELLENT BALLPLAYER!!!!!!

I think it’s because ‘nowadays’, people are trained to take pitches at all costs, because the pitch count it held in such high regard.

How does a major league ball player get caught stealing at 3rd with 2 outs? Then how does not the manager not pull him immediately and send him to watch little leaguers play fundamentally sound baseball to learn from it.

The statistics say it's better to swing hard, even with two strikes. Better to either strike out or hit the ball hard than to hit more balls weakly. It's not *totally* absolute, but it's pretty safe to say we're never going back the old approach ever again.

If you pitch 3 innings or more to finish the game you are credited with a save regardless of the score. Kind of a weird stat but they happen every now and then. Usually in blowouts like this.
