Thanks for sharing this gem. A question... can you tell us something about the christ in the pic? Why no beard, no long hair, why the spiral cross? Church of origin? Thanks in advance.

+Froniwo The Christ is located in the medieval chapel of the St. Mary's Assumption parish church in Morgex, Aosta Valley (Italy). This is another image with a different perspective: beeimg.com/images/m25913783411.jpg An unusual altar recalls the symbols of the Eucharist: the table consists of a millstone (bread), the center of which is placed a screw press (wine) to which is applied the 14th-century Crucifix. Originally the Christ probably had real human hairpieces, lost over the centuries. Thank you for your interest!
