This REALLY makes me want to play tabletop again. My siblings, gf, and brother in law had a Pathfinder game going for a bit and it was SO much fun and I miss it! Our first time ever playing was a one shot and my younger brother's character almost got killed right off the bat because of my gf setting fire to the web of a giant spider!

I first got into DnD about a year ago when my friend recommended I join our school's DnD club. My first character was Medoh Birdwing, an Aracokra wizard named after the Rito Devine Beast from Zelda BOTW. Then we died to a banshee who was on 5 ish heath and I could've killed her if I had rolled higher, and I made a new character, Alex (AKA Fluffycloud) the Druid cat. She was a partner (not romantically because that would be weird) to my friend's character, Steve the Goliath, and she would sit on Steve's head and cast spells from there.

"Take Ariana the angry blond character from my webcomic castoff and make her angrier and also a tiefling." That is a terrifying image. Also got stuck in the forever dm loop and I played 1 game that lasted a couple mouths then became a dm got too many players and had to train 2 into dms and write a script for them because, yes I was doing a homebrew campaign as my first campaign, all in the span of a week. Being a dm is so fun. Oh yeah and they spent an hour irl trying to convince me that culvers can exist and they don't care about the really plot, all they wanted to rp was running a fast food restaurant.

I actually met most of my friends and my husband through D&D! Everyone takes turns being DM, so nobody gets stuck in a forever DM position. We've been playing our current campaign, "High Tides", for about 2 years now, and we're nearing the end pretty quickly. I play Brandy O'Donovan, a triton bard/rogue who is based on the song "Brandy (A Fine Girl)" by Looking Glass. She used to work at her family's pub/inn on a small island off the coast of one of the major continents and yearned for the day her beloved could earn enough to purchase his own ship so they could make their own life together. Unfortunately, Brandy & her parents were arrested on false charges by a foreign empire and were going to be cast into slavery. On her way to meet her fate, she met up with the other members of the party & managed to escape the slaver ship...with the coincidental help from Phillips, the king of the seas & a horrible villain in his own right. Now they're all wanted criminals and fearsome pirates who are on a race against time to stop the major factions from obtaining ultimate power.

I'd definitely be very interested in D&D storytimes! Also, my introduction to D&D was also through TAZ! A friend of mine recommended it and not long after, everyone in my main friendgroup was listening to it and we eventually decided we wanted to play D&D together! My first character was a tiefling druid (I've always thought tieflings were cool and a druid seemed like an unusual class for a tiefling). That campaign lasted about a year and a half until it petered out. About two years ago now though, I got a chance to join a new campaign, with one of my friends from that original campaign also playing, and I decided to revive my tiefling druid as a character! That campaign's been going strong for a little over two years now! Another fun story is the friend who DMed the first campaign I ever played was building a world with the person she was dating at the time. During the current campaign, our DM needed a break to plan ahead in the game and focus on some real life stuff, so a different player offered to DM a short campaign for us meanwhile (ended up being about 10 sessions). Funnily enough though, this player was the person who had been dating the first DM friend at the time and the world they set their campaign in was the same one they'd built with the first DM, and by extension, the world the first D&D game I'd ever played had been set in! I didn't play my tiefling druid in this game, since I was playing her in the main game and wanted to build a new character for this, but it was fun going through the setting and seeing what things I recognized all these years after playing in that world for the first time, and seeing what things my character influenced in the world!

Oh man, every GM has there "Party Overthinks it" moment, and they haunt our sleep (in amusing and exasperating ways). My most recent one involved a party of ghosts, already dead characters, afraid to open a door on a minivan because they didn't know what was inside. Spent 45 minutes just doing every ridiculous thing they could come up with (Including attempting to possess a seagull, throwing rocks at the van, and trying to teleport the door hinges off), only to eventually recall that they were, in fact, incorporeal nonentities AKA Ghosts and could just literally put their head in the door with zero consequences.

My boyfriend is a DM and we play pretty much once a week with a bunch of friends! :) He is playing DnD since almost 10-12 years. I am also a player of DnD and really love the game, as long as it is the 5th generation... ^_^' He invented a whole universe as a sand box for his players. After 20 some games, he finally created a character of his own to play with us when there is only 2-3 people present. He loves it and try hard not to give the answers to his team mates when something complicated happens... But as he built up his character with a lot of intelligence, he still has a lot of info and is not metagaming too much! :P Among his friends, there is 3 DMs who switch game when the players are fed up or the campaign is over.

While I am technically my group’s forever DM, due to scheduling, we’ve only played our ongoing campaign twice in this year. Instead I’m much more excited about a game I’m a player in, which has been much more frequent. I play a half-(drow)Elf named Kazariah, a divine soul sorcerer who comes from a nomadic clan of drow from the desert. She’s goofy and bubbly and the biggest sweetheart you can ask for, definitely the heart of the party. But she’s also constantly avoiding her problems. She’s much happier talking others through their stress and suffering than her own, she avoids responsibility because she just wants to be free to live her own life, away from her strict clan’s rules. And more importantly, she has to eventually decide whether she wants to go back home for good, or be a true exile and never come back. It’s fascinating watching how much stress she’s quietly accumulating, and how long she can keep it hidden from the rest of her party, before she eventually collapses under the weight of indecision.

With that many players, it took quite a long time to get anything done but we all had fun and some pretty epic campaigns. unfortunately our party stopped being able to play due to work schedules and college. Really makes me want to play again. My main character was an elf named Cora who was a LotR insert OC, then a variety of hobbits and elves that were bards or healers

DnD is my favorite (and main) way to socialize. My most recent (and overall favorite) character was a wild magic sorcerer named Zora. She’s socially awkward, jumpy, and loves finding logical answers to things. And she has no idea she’s a sorcerer. She thinks she’s just a bad wizard, and even ended up getting a wizard’s spellbook as loot (DC15 Arcana check to cast anything from it). She was so fun to play. (Also, despite being arguably the most innocent and friendly character in the party, Zora had probably the highest kill count against sentient creatures. There was an incident with a herd of cats, and a thunderwave spell. We didn’t know they were actually people cursed by the BBEG until several sessions later. That was an… awkward realization.)

I’m glad I finally found someone else who likes tieflings! I play in a bunch of different dnd games, one of which I dm, but my favorite character is a tiefling sorcerer named Talryn, and I love her character so much, but her campaign is a series of one shots where the dm changes every time, and it’s with my extended family so we only get to play twice a year. (And most of the time we don’t finish the one shots ;). Anyway, tieflings are underrated and I’m glad someone agrees. :)

I haven’t played in a campaign or dnd but I have watched over 100 episodes of a dnd podcast and me and my friends have made characters. One of my friends who has played dnd before. They have to dm a party of mostly new players in an humble wood setting with bits of the forgotten realms. I had the idea for a party of mostly children and one person who’s a legal adult because one of the players spent time in the shadow fell with a cult and is a bit out of it sometimes. I play one of the mediators of the party and though we haven’t started, we’ve practiced combat through mock battles I basically DM and we even go over things that some people are confused about. I may have also learned the discord non paid message cap while sending backstory to the DM. It’s 2000 characters i believe but it might’ve been words, feel free to say which one is right. This message is getting long, so I hope everyone is having a great time of day/night.

First DND campaign was a weird one. One time our resident giant (who is 6’ 7” irl) accidentally ripped a door off someone’s house and used it as a shield in a battle scenario with flying swords. My character was a goblin rogue and one joke was that the elf that constantly wild shaped into a sugar glider was my child because they snuck into my food bag once and the rest was history; the joke is that I am a bad parent because they kept getting kidnapped. They also tried making the BBEG their dad and my husband… don’t know whether to be concerned or impressed :)

I've played several dnd characters since I first got into dnd properly during 2018-19, but my favorite has got to be Ebakas Lamar, my tiefling glamour bard/celestial warlock. He's a confident, snarky and sensual guy trying to live his life to the fullest while hoping that his past doesn't come back to haunt him. I play him in a game of Storm King's Thunder and we just reached level 8! As far as campaigns I run, I've been running a 5e dnd game set in the world of one of my stories, which means SO MUCH homebrew I've had to make just so the campaign runs properly. It's about demigods growing in power to take on an evil god and his cult, and the shenanigans they get into along the way. I've also recently started running a Dragon Age RPG game!

I've been playing a Tiefling Psi Warrior in a mini campaign lately. Lord Friedrich VanDrake: the only Tiefling born in his noble family due to a curse. The son of a governor, he had to work extra hard to earn the trust of his people. As such, he trained with warriors and psychics, eventually joining the city guard to prove his dedication. He's really hardassed and has a lot of "Do not fuck with me" energy. Super fun to play 😊 I've also got a Ranger with Phss in Boots/Peter Parker levels of masking fear with bravado and showmanship, a Half Wood Elf Fighter who's a staged combat performer longing to "do something that matters", a Hexblade/Rogue who's essentially Corvo from Dishonored, and a Half Drow Bard; an ambassador's son looking for his missing mother-the only person who ever understood him- who he believes is living it up in the Feywild. This game has TONS of great story potential 😁

I haven’t played much D&D, but I remember one instance where it took my character like five turns to climb a rope, and she broke her ankle in the process, cause my strength was so low. We were robbing a museum and had gotten the guards attention whilst trying to leave. It’s been a while since we’ve played that campaign though, with the DM being busy. The friend I play that campaign with was going to start a new campaign with some friends, though nothing’s happened in it yet beside character creation. But the character I’ve created for that campaign is a ten year old human sorcerer 😂

my first character was a tiefling bard named Iados. his rough concept was the horny bard trope but as someone not to into that, I didn't actually play him too horny outside of hand waved off screen/backstory stuff. he quickly had a bit more character slapped on anyway before actual play happened where he was basically a con man/jigilo(I am not messing with my recommendations to look up how to properly spell that) then he met a dwarf who was running pretty similar scams and quickly became his rival, than acquaintance, friend, lover, and finally wife and along the way thanks to her influence he goes from con man out for himself to con man who also looks out for others. they still do their cons they still sleep around but when off the job they have each other... then she gets sick and he does all he can to save her, but fails. after that he is determined to do good, to make sure that when its his time he would go join her in heaven. then the campaign starts. a funny thing that after a few sessions was that the other tiefling party member was young enough to be his daughter... and has vague enough backstory to not have certain parentage... uhhhhh. granted I don't think we ever determined if that was significant or just a odd coincidence and I'm also pretty sure in character they never realized the math there

I'm really bad at dnd, but my fiancé is great at it and loves DMing. I remember one time they made this campaign that involved an alternate modern fantasy version of earth with dnd races (think kind of like Onward), and a big running joke was that every brand/ pop culture thing could be found in both worlds but with slightly different names. It was so damn fun to come up with them, we'd all just throw out suggestions on the fly and then laugh our asses off. Two of my favorites were "WacDonald's" and "21,000 Pilots"

I got my first taste of D&D in 2016, but I started playing it seriously in 2017. I still have very fond memories of the campaign I played with my housemates when I was still in college. Our campaign ran for a very long time, but people in our group moving away made scheduling new sessions increasingly difficult, and COVID-19 ultimately put our entire campaign on hold. We tried to revive our campaign in 2021, but our GM eventually ran into some world building problems that meant he decided to discontinue the campaign for good. I would love to get back together sometime and try GM-ing a campaign myself once, but the amount of work that is going to take kind of intimidates me. Since I already have a fulltime job, investing the required amount of time in it will be hard. Needless to say, your story of how you got acquainted with D&D fascinates me. I have been looking for new groups to play with for some time now, and I would secretly really love to join Jaycorn's campaign or one of your campaigns one day, even though I know this most likely isn't an option XD . GM-ing a D&D-campaign sounds like it would really suit you though, given you're already writing a fantasy story on your own. I'm sure all of your campaigns so far have been fun =) .

i have exactly one tiefling i have played, and he's in multiple campaigns now, so allow me to try and put his adventures to words (apologies for how long this may be) Jericho Mynxin, an Arcane Trickster Rogue who started off as just a spy for what is basically dnd Russia (aka Yuskia) but as he was fighting someone known as "the Queen" with his unknown party, they got separated because of magical portals and he has no way to know where they went but wants to find them so they can take on the Queen again. his first iteration of this story was with a party of 5 where he was basically an alcoholic bastard who pissed off the party sorcerer and got along with the resident fighter coz they both drank and were both Russian. later into the campaign they found a scepter that made everyone but him sick, so he kept it on him so they could figure out what to do with it. that was a mistake since after spending time with it, he had a nightmare and woke up to his eyes being glossy, his hands covered in shadows, and the insane urge to "bring the scepter back". he tried running from the party to do what he thought he needed to do, took psychic damage, and passed out, his soul suddenly ripped from his body with 11 days to recover it. that turned into me swapping to a Changeling named Fig, but then that campaign got cancelled. the second iteration of that same campaign is almost the same, but we only have the sorcerer and the fighter, and right now he's waiting for them in dnd Silent Hill hoping the shadows don't come back. in the other campaign he's in, he goes by the name "Roulette" and is the boss of a mafia cartel known as "the Cardinal Monte" where their preferred place of business is a casino he owns simply called "the Oasis". same shadow stuff has happened but in a different way: he found an item with a shadow cat named Erebus attached to it and wasn't able to sell it because Erebus was attached to it. when he admitted to wanting to remove Erebus from the item, Erebus killed him in the same manner of his first iteration, but he was brought back for unknown reasons, now having the shadowed covered hands from before. any time he touches someone who was blessed by Erebus however, he relives his death, receiving a massive headache and a nosebleed as a forever reminder of his mistake. he's done a deal with another mafia full of dragons to get an eye that can control anyone they want to control, and in doing so has met the solo party of 56 and his found family of arch-fiend experiments. 56 wants the eye, so we left off with Jericho telling him in order to get the eye, he has to work at his casino to earn it. Fig is also there but as an entertainer and overseer for the casino, so Thursday Goober shenanigans will ensue coz they're a non-negotiable package deal. i have many other stories, but this is what ya get for requesting tieflings, lol

I do want to play D&D again, but I dunno... I absolutely want to hear dnd stories, I'm always up for that. My start as a DM was similar, I wanted to be a player but nobody was picking up that role. I found a oneshot on a site (Mad Manor of Astabar), and decided to run it for my sister and her bff; it ended up way longer than one session and then it turned into a campaign with the tiny party called Rat Party, prone to setting doors on fire. We're all learning as we go along.

Here they are: 1) Daeva the half-elf Bard-Necromancer: [The first ever PC I ever came up with, and by far the most D&Dee of them] Daeva has a magical mandolin the allows her to talk with her elven ancestors and is running away from some nobles that are accusing her of attacking them unprovoked, when that wasn't at all what happened. 2) Unnamed Stag-Centaur Ranger: [This is one I made when I realized that Daeva got a bit too complecated to be my first ever roleplaying character] His son was out playing with his friends in the woods, when a group of hunters saw his antlers and shot him, mistaking him for an actual deer. Upon realizing their mistake they take his body to sell it to the black market. So my PC goes after them. 3) Oet the Swarm Keeper Kenku: [One of my most recent characters and more one I made as a joke] Oet has been cursed to speak in rhymes and he is now searching for a way to undo the curse (I didn't know that Kenku only repeat what they hear at the time). He has a swarm of ravens following him around and anyone who can tell me what he is referencing gets a cookie. 4) Amanita the Spore Druid Fairy: [Definitely my favorite of my characters] Amanita was a tendant of the Queen's garden in the Feywild and was incharge of mushrooms and fungy. One day a mystirious new cluster of mushrooms appeared in the garden and the fairies were told that until they could figure out what these mushrooms were and where they came from nobody was to go near them. Amanita didn't listen and oops they are magical cordyceps. So now Amanita has run off from her colony in a complete stupor and doesn't realize what's going on. She has now unknowingly been spreading these cordyceps in the Material Plane and is slowly loosing her mind to the mushrooms that are overtaking her. 5) Lillith the Warlock: [Probably my second favorite, but also the one that needs the most rework] Lillith is an 8 year old human girl that unknowingly made a pact with a ghost and now has ghost powers. She is not sure what he wants because he doesn't really talk and is the only one that can see him because he keeps following her around like a shadow, just staring at her. Very haunted child horror movie vibes with this one. 6) Xolani the Grave Domain DragonBorn Cleric: [My most recent character and the one I'll probably be using whenever we actually manage to play D&D] Xolani got their magic from the Raven Queen (and yes I know the Raven Queen isn't a grave domain god, but I don't care). They was exiled from their clan when they put their bedridden chief out of his misery. They are now travelling around trying to find other people in need of their services, but unfortunately some folks don't apreciate them trying to help and they are being hunted by them. And that's it.

I would love to play DnD again, it's been several years since I last played properly. I played it last year with a group of friends, but the friend who was DMing didn't have much experience. Can't blame him though, together I and two others made a nuclear warhead during a boss fight As for the first time, I, with two others, were apart of what I named "The Idiot Brigade," a short DnD campaign we wanted to have go on for longer but was cut short due to multiple reasons. We can't continue it now since the guy who DMed left the group on a sour note with everyone else. This one was really fun and I can go on forever explaining how it went down and how I, despite having the most HP and strength, died repeatedly and only lived through saving throws (legitimately died about 12 times), how I formed an eternal rivalry with a goblin named Goblin #2, how one of us fell off a cliff with another goblin and only lived by pushing the goblin into a wall, breaking his fall as the goblin landed on a spike, and how we coffin danced the goblin king to death (you know it was a long time ago based on that alone) Such a fun game, I would love to play again

My mom is a big dnd fan and loves critical role and the school I go to isn't very traditional it doesn't have math, history, science, etc but my mom thought "what if I make a DND class?" And she asked the principal about it and stuff (she's a teacher there) and he said yes 😂 it's rly fun and last time in class she said how a owl bear's head came off very graphic and there was a gap in the wall next to a kindergarten class😂

Currently, my two teiflings I'm playing are a serious, yet somewhat awkward grave cleric, named Azule Lunal, who had lost her home in an attack and is now attempting to find the truth behind it, while starting a small revolution with her chaotic party between assisting enslaved warforged to regain their freedom to overthrowing a corrupt noble by convincing a giant spider monster to turn their anger on him. Meanwhile, on a recently uncovered island freed from a millennia old storm, my overactive, ADHD paladin/fighter, Alina Kindal, set out to create her own legend, after being cooped up in her mother's church for years. She has got into so much nonsense, like becoming a war chief of a goblin tribe, having a piece of her breath stolen by an eldritch being, getting married to her partner (it was a very fun one shot), and a bit of crisis of faith, not know where/who her powers are exactly coming from.

I've only played DnD once, and I think the funniest thing that happened was that my character jumped really majestically into a tree and shocked the entire party (I rolled a 20).

I've never played D&D, but my dad used to, & a few very occasional times, I saw cool little tower bits & dice in his room. This was really long ago so I didn't really know anything about it, never looking into the topic. Rather, I'd later be more properly introduced by online content, like silly clips, little memes, videos explaining the game, etc, & now I'm here! ..On one hand, I think it'd be a fun, maybe even helpful experience, but I'm not the best at just going out & talking with people, so I'm not really sure I'll seek out others to play with.

Man, I'm still so sad this one game never panned out! I was in an artist's fan discord for Our Flag Means Death, which is a show about queer pirates, and a chunk of us got really into reimagining the crew as a DND campaign. What everyone's playing style would be, whacky shit that would happen, etc. We got so into it that we started a tag on Instagram to post these DND game night illustrations made to look like polaroid pictures. Eventually we finally tried to start a campaign (pirate themed of course, lol) and had exactly one successful session... and then NO ONE was able to meet for long enough ever again after that, we all lived in completely different time zones, had completely different work schedules, etc. It was so disappointing, I really liked my character :(

oh boy oh boy oh boy i hope you don’t mind if i gush about my tiefling, Squiggle!!!! Alright, I started a campaign with my friend a long time ago (about. a year now) that started out as a one shot but I pressed him to keep going because I loved it so much. I played as a purple, 4’11 1/2 tiefling named Squiggle. Squiggle is a part of a group in the city of Babloo that calls themselves the Pirates, their leader, Chip, being a sort of father figure to her. She has spent a good few years with them and grew to see them as her family. She had run away from her old family at around 10, dragging her brother, Buddy, with her. But, she had decided to run away in the middle of winter. Buddy unfortunately died on the way to the city of Babloo due to how cold it was. In the main one shot the story was about her finding an elf with a French accent named Havier and two travelers, a human barbarian named Daisy and a dragonborn rogue named Cobra. The four of them set out to find something called the Sonk Ponkle, said to grant anyone’s wish. Long story short, they got it, and Squiggle wished for her brother back. But, he didn’t appear. Or so they thought. Squiggle dragged Havier and Cobra back to her old house and was greeted at the door with a small tiefling named Zen that looked strangely similar to her. This was her little brother that she had no idea about until then. They found Buddy in the house, grabbed Zen, and fought Squiggle’s dad. Havier landed the final blow to her dad and they all made it safely away. Havier and Cobra joined the Pirates after Squiggle begged them to, and Havier and Squiggle became BFFs. Yay for a happy ending! Or so you think mwahahahaha!! I don’t want to write too much so I’ll just sum up the rest of the current story- One of the members of the Pirates, Jay, goes missing and Squiggle and Chip go to find her at a Navy base (the Pirates main enemies). They find her there with her dad and the dad captures Squiggle and Chip and puts them in a ring to fight a brainwashed fish guy named Gillion Tidestrider. Chip almost dies and Squiggle is able to snap Gillion out of his state and redirect him to attack Jay’s father. They rescue Jay, bring Gillion with them, and go back to Babloo to find the town empty. Except for a tabaxi named Tick that they had taken in a while ago. Tick tells them everyone was captured by the Navy, they all set out to go find them, Tick gets captured by a rival group that was led by his brother, Squiggle and the others get cool new Pirate outfits, they save Tick, they go and attempt to break the citizens of Babloo and the rest of the Pirates out of jail, Squiggle almost dies and gets cursed, they save everyone, they steal a whole ship and they are now official pirates! Squiggle’s curse is cured by her making a deal with a god (who she may or may not be related to) annnnnd that’s basically it. Hope I didn’t write too much!! I really like gushing about Squiggle and the Pirates 😊 also btw i love your videos!!! your art inspires so much, it’s actually crazy :) you give me so much motivation to keep drawing (also my pfp is a picture of Squiggle that I drew)

And I so get your descend and wanting to switch roles but for me it was from Player to DM! I kept having ideas for NPC's and story hooks but no where near enough characters to fit it all without giving my DM a headache 😅 so recently to give her a break I started my own mini campaign! It's fully based in the One Piece Universe to ease the load of world building and it's my fave manga. Yesterday we started the first arc after a longer prolouge and it's great! Feeling inspired to make some D&D story times now and invent more detailed NPC's ❤

To those that want a fun TTRPG that emulates JRPG’s I highly HIGHLY recommend Fabula Ultima. It’s very light on rules has less math then 5e D&D AND a very flexible class system that lets you play EXACTLY the character you want to play as. This isn’t a plug I just want more people to know that this game exists and give it a shot, it is WELL worth a look
