Those have been dribbling through a whole bunch of products. You could put them all together right now with a nice simple story.

Extremely hype. The subclass I didn't know I wanted.

I also love the name of this Druid Circle because, in a way, is a hint towards Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream! C:

I absolutely love the fey wild; many of the stories that i tell or offer to local dm's when we talk about campaigns have to do with the fey courts though they are expanded in homebrew games. There are the goblin courts (like the merry gentry stories), with the seelie and unseelie both having their powerful players or sometimes it's simply creatures of the fey that have learned to feed off the nightmare and anguish of mortals. Cultivating fear like a vinter cultivates the best vines for the finest vintages of wine, or they stumble upon hags in the middle of 'supper'. One story was more along the lines of a old tale though with a twist the village sought out a hag and offered her sacrifices in order to ensure full harvests and safer winters

So....when are we getting a Feywild module?
@gordongraham20646 жыл бұрын
It's interesting, most of the books so far have been deliberate riffs on classic modules. The thing is, there aren't really any classic modules about the fey.

I'd LOVE a fey sorcerer- the wild magic is a bit too unspecific-- I'd love one which was specifically and undeniably fey in scope

I mean considering they added a Shadowfell Sorcerous origin, it would only make sense to add a feywild one as well. Seeing as how they're two halves of the same coin and all, it's only fair really.

As a support player and Fey lover, Circle of Dreams was my favorite of the Unearthed Arcana druids. Excited about it. The new feature seems p interesting and close to what my high level Wizard has been using a lot.

I hope you guys are reading comments. The problem with this subclass is that many people will not see it usefull compared to shepherds and moon. I'll be honest, you could've added a sprite familiar for flavor without touching the rest of the feature and I guess the subclass would get it's shareload of fans. The subclass is good and nice, but I see people call it lackluster all the time and the fey familiar would've been really nice and fitting.

Sounds really cool. I'd imagine this _might_ point to a Feywild-based mod coming up in the future? That could be really cool. As a fan of Celtic Folklore and the Fey in all sorts of stories, I do like to mix fey into various campaigns in one way or another, and even ran a campaign a little while back that had The Queen of Air and Darkness luring in one of the player characters to be her pawn (a druid) while other matters were going on that only tangentially touched on a connection to the Feywild. Too bad that game ended when basically everyone's schedules were completely changed from work, college, or new-family.

I think druids would like the Feywild as long as it is balanced with the Shadowfell, the same way they like the elemental planes.

Jeremy Crawford, do your games accept Fey Marriage in your State? lol I enjoy adding Fantastical elements of traveling the wilds in the planes. My players often find themselves traversing the Feywild in order to speak to a specific Druid Oracle who is never the same place on the Feywild. I use different biological environments from Earth with heavy overgrowth to spice each area explored in the Feywild.

So will 5e switch to the seelie/unseelie court division vs the whole court of stars arrangement? It feels like trying to piece together the available 5e info on the feywild gives you a convoluted idea of what creators were referencing. I don't mind exactly since you're encouraged to pick and choose what you want either way, but you sure have to do a lot of digging to understand the world you're trying to get a picture of. Like that one off UA with all the eldritch invocations. It was neat shit, there was obviously lore they were pointing to, but I had no idea where it was coming from since I'm pretty new to d&d. I eat up lore like a kid with candy but I can only get through the old material if I'm aware it exists. Especially hard when most of it is unlisted and scattered and behind a paywall, like the Dragon/Dungeon mags
@Millstone19856 жыл бұрын
Have you read the Dungeon Master's Guide page 49, "Seelie and Unseelie Fey"?
@Anonymous10923874566 жыл бұрын
Yep, though rereading it I think "switch" wasn't the right word since they already look like they've gone in that direction & just haven't released anything more comprehensive I guess my confusion comes more from how it conflicts with previous lore? The dmg gave the feywild a biiig ol 2 pages plus little snippets in other books. So I had to check out what past editions had already been running on, and there's not much of a focus on seelie & unseelie. Then in addition to that there was no queen of air & darkness, and the queen of the summer court was a different person
@Millstone19856 жыл бұрын
Tiandra, was it? I believe she was an expy of Titania, who had appeared in an even earlier edition along with her sister the Queen of Air and Darkness. The problem, I would say, is that "general D&D lore" isn't actually a thing. Tiandra is the Summer Queen of a Feywild that echoes an unnamed world stuck in the aftermath of the fall of the empire of Nerath. Titania is the Summer Queen of a Feywild that echoes the world of Abeir-Toril, or maybe Oerth. You might think "Okay, different worlds, same universe/multiverse". But it is really more like Vulcan, Coruscant and Gallifrey. They belong to different canons entirely. 5e seems to encourange the crossover. The PHB describes the Material Plane as encompassing all the worlds of D&D, and Jeremy Crawford said in a tweet that Planescape was the "metasetting" of the game. But actually merging all the lore from settings that were first designed separately? Not easy.

3 specialisations for the druid (melee shapeshifter ; magic ranged dps ; healer) and an association to dreams? Wow! I can't remember in which highly successfull MMORPG, that 4th ed was infamously "inspired" by, you get exactly that... Nah, I must be hallucinating, this is surely fully original content!
