D-Day 70th anniversary, Normandy. Burning Bridges.
Driving shots were filmed in the lanes near St. Mere Eglise, Normandy, and along Omaha Beach road in a 1943 M3A1 Scout Car. Stills are a mix of recreations (taken at the same event), and originals.
Music by Mike Curb Congregation - Burning Bridges - theme to Kelly's Heroes

The part at 1.20 when the young girl waves and he gives her the fist salute is just sublime, bring a tear to the eye.

I dedicate this song to my friend Ed Mokan who served in the 82nd Airborne 504th PIR. He was a scout sniper and yes he survived all his jumps. God Bless you Ed.

@Maria Strotz Stop it both of you. Seen both of you many times, first there's always the bot saying that they hacked their significant other's/friend's account on different platforms, and then a bot that pretends to be someone who sees that it works.

Back in the day in Europe, units moved out en mass using the Autobahn or local roads to deployment locations or training areas. Same goes for Korea, other locations were US troops are stationed as well as Stateside.

I think the movie was a lot more cynical about the war than this suggests. More like "Catch-22."
