It's not until you see a presentation like this do you realize how complex this score is and what a musical genius Ennio Morricone is.

Not just that, but how brilliant he was in composing something that can't be anything other than for a Western. It is the pure aural embodiment of a Western. Try to imagine any other movie genre that this composition would fit. It's impossible. Right from the first note you can't help but think of the Wild West, of horses, of gunfights, of the Man with no Name.

@obviouspseudonym9345
@obviouspseudonym9345 3 жыл бұрын
@@dannymiller3315 Technically Winchesters look like Henrys. Henry designed the rifle, Oliver Winchester owned the New Haven Arms Co. They were working together, but Henry one day decided he wasn't the amount of money he deserved, so he took Winchester to court and wanted to be given ownership of the company. Winchester (being a savvy businessman while Henry wasn't) relinquished the company, but the patents were still legally belonging to him. So basically Henry kinda got screwed and left with an empty husk of a company, while Oliver Winchester went on to found the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. Eventually Winchester released the 1866 Rifle, which a Henry rifle with a drastically improved magazine using the King's loading gate patent. The Easy way to identify a Henry 1860 rifle is the magazine. The design prohibits the addition of a wooden handguard.

The DSNO is actually the Danish public tax paid DR1 TV orchestra which is the Danish equivalent to the English BBC1 orchestra, so they are all about TV, film and popular orchestra music (like PC games), as you will find if you look up their other TV concerts. That also do concerts for small children to raise their general knowledge and musical IQ, so personally I think they are World class at what they do.

What an imaginative genius to know and understand the flavor of the old southwest, the mountains and arroyos, the feel of hot desert wind, the sand in the face, the scorching heat, the mystery and the dangers. He captured it all in his music.

But beyond the blistering sands of thr desert is the border life and flavors of the American southwest, the cowboy and Indian myths, the Mexican border town feel, the John Ford western movies, Monument Valley, stage coaches driving across dusty trails. Th3 myths ofnthr Colf Single auction Army, Colt Walker revolver, thr .45 Long Colt, the .44-40, the Winchester lever action.

Ennio Morricone was a well-known composer in Europe. After Sergio Leone’s Spaghetti Western films became a game-changing hit in the US, he became an internationally known composer. After nearly 60 years, Morricone’s music no longer needs to rely on the movies to be enjoyed by a new generation of listeners who will be free to interpret his music’s unique instrumentation just like the timeless Beethoven’s classical music.

Wonderful. Sublime music from a genius beautifully recreated by an amazing orchestra. I have seen the dollar trilogy dozens of times and my favourite film ever is The Good the Bad & the Ugly. I have been to Andalusia in southern Spain many times, especially the Taberna desert where much of the films were shot. I have even visited a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere, which is essentially a tomato farm now that once was ‘Agua Caliante’ in a few Dollars More. Thank goodness for this orchestra.

This is my favorite Morricone western theme followed by the Good the Bad and the Ugly, Extacy of Gold, For a Fist Full of Dollars, and the underated The Five Men Army main theme. Of course you can't go wrong with any of the master's western themes. Great job by the Danish National Orchestra.

Ennio Morricone is definitely a genius and a very nonconformist creator. Some of his scores are very complex, and unpredictable in the way he chose the instruments and chorus parts, as well as sudden changes in the melodic line. In my eyes, he has a reserved place among the "immortals", that is, the great composers, such as Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms.I mean it !
