This is probably the most practical of diy bike mounts out there because with the bikes slanted I can stack another bike or two above. Love it, I’m doing this in my garage.

Great video I was going to buy a wall hanging kit off tea-bay but I've got a couple of 2x4 that look like they'll get the job done so I will save myself a tenner and give this a go as it looks so simple even I'd have trouble messing it up! Ha ha

I'd be concerned about the bike getting bumped and rolling forward or backward off the platforms and then being suspended, for a moment at least, by just that cord. Perhaps some wheel stops to stop that from occurring.

Yeah. You're over thinking it. The wheels press into the wall, the bike doesn't roll anywhere even when knocked. The bike thats hanging there at the moment has been there for 8 months now and has not budged. Which might mean I need to ride more! 🤣

Nice idea! Is there a danger that the bike could roll off the wall mounts that hold the wheels, like if someone were to bump into the bike?

I really don't know. Never tried knocking them off! Likelihood of anyone walking into them is slim in our house. Wouldn't take too much thought to add a little security though. 😉👍🚴‍♂️

Is this safe for the bike pedals and etc? Can something be damaged from this hanging (except falling from that distance)? My MTB bike is very heavy 19KG (42 pounds) and I worry that something can be damaged.

The bike does not hang from the pedals. I have not tried hanging a Mountain bike yet,.but I can't see any problem doing so! 👍🚴‍♂️
