Beatboxers mostly use their lips tongue and throat. When you hear those monster voices it is done by pressuring their throat. When you hear regular bass (sub bass) they do with their lips. Tongue is used for alsi some rolling sounds and even more ( as D-low did that tongue twist at the end of his round)

the 2019 GBB you're watching now is one the highest displays of skill in battles we've ever seen. D-Low has some *incredible* displays towards the earlier rounds, and that's because he was forced to go up against some MONSTERS so he had to step up or step off. If we're being honest, most finals and battles towards the end don't turn out as good as the ones at the start of the competition, and that's because people use up all their good routines and techniques at the start to make sure they get to the end 100% So watch the earlier battles bro! They're fire!

7:39 - That's an Inhale Fry Scream, which is incredibly surprising given the amount of work that it takes to do it well without screwing yourself up, he pulled it off VERY well. If you notice it he drops his shoulders and hunches over a fair amount while continuing a relaxed posture, this is the proper technique for this kind of vocal as many people screw up by huffing and puffing with their shoulders bouncing around. It's pretty insane the amount of techniques, including screaming techniques that they use in this single battle alone, many of which are mostly heard in heavier forms of metal and other similar genres.
@Sam-uu2nx8 ай бұрын
As someone who screams, no one does inhales because it's bad for your vocal health. I, new to beatbox, am just mindblown by how much stuff is inhale. But at the same time I've been doing that inward fry sound my whole life, it's how kids make dinosaur noises lol
@mitrikgaduk3478 ай бұрын
@@Sam-uu2nx More vocalists that you actually know or even would expect use Inhale, it's not "public knowledge" as no one specifically states what kind of scream they are doing as they all just give vague answers as to how they got there (it's a long tedious process or you are just incredibly talented and nail it in a short amount of time, depending on the person they are far more open about it). I did Inhale for literal YEARS, never had a single issue, and I have asthma. That doesn't mean I'd recommend doing it mind you, I'm an anomaly in this regard, I got incredibly lucky, and to do this can still do it. I only do it on occasion to fuck around cause' I haven't done music production in years. There's a variety of styles of screams you can get out of Inhale, it all comes down to mouth shape, the way you move your throat, etc. Anything that applies to exhale when it comes to these aspects applies to inhales. The reason why people fucked up their voices is the amount of pressure they put and the environment they did it in. For example, if you are in a club with a smoking room (or already smoke), it's different than being at a open air venue where there's less toxic fumes in the air. You are inhaling all of that shit, every minute you spend screaming, you spend inhaling that in. Cupping the mic can help with this because less of the air being inhaled is from around you and is being funneled in with little space as you mouth is very close to the mic. This also means it requires a lot less air pressure to get the sound out. Everyone thinks they are a professional on the subject, there aren't any. I can claim that because I don't see any anywhere who have lasted as long as I have, there are so few, it's very difficult. There are plenty of vocalists who use it with exhales, so they'll use an inhale for some vocals, but exhale everything else, hence the opening of this comment. Again, maybe I'm just the exception to this rule, but I've NEVER had a single issue using Inhale, again, I have asthma, it doesn't change the fact that I use my diaphragm when I scream, nor does it change my posture, it's not some kind of stupid cheat to an easy scream, you either do it right, or you'll hurt yourself.

GBB2019 is only behind the GBB2017 and WBC2015 for me.
@HertzVT4 жыл бұрын
@@Helldog6 I can see that! WBC2015 had some revolutionary new styles and just all around insane talent. GBB2017 was some straight up insane battles; Alexinho vs Two.H will always be one of my most favorite battles of all time!
@Helldog64 жыл бұрын
@@HertzVT Yeah, the WBC2015 reinvigorated my love beatboxing. I've been following beatboxing since 2002 and by about 2012-2013 I had gotten a little bit tired of the scene as it was growing a bit stale for me so I took a break but checked back in for the 2015 World Championship and was blown away. The battles were incredible, the energy, the versatility, the quality, etc. It had improved so much and America had become a powerhouse (where as for the entire history of actively following beatbox, America was kind of a joke). And the the following year, the 2016 GBB was a HUGE improvement from 2015, in my opinion. And GBB2017 was just the climax for me.
@HertzVT4 жыл бұрын
@@Helldog6 I started really getting into beatboxing in like 2009-2010. And for the first couple years I did notice some repetitiveness in styles. Like everyone was trying to be the best at technicality or heavy bass. It wasn't until 2013 and so on that people really started developing individual styles and with loopstation getting evermore popular, musicality being an important factor skyrocketed. WBC was a stepping stone for a lot of notable beatboxers today (shoutout to Bee-Low the legend himself), but I think GBB really took it to a mainstream medium. It's exciting to see where beatboxing goes these days! So much new young talent that are SO incredibly diverse in their styles it's really inspiring!
@Helldog64 жыл бұрын
@@HertzVT Yeah, which sucks because I missed 2013 after getting burned out with the technicality. It was just too much technical skill to the point where it wasn't even like a beat and started being just noise to me. It could've just been me being burned out, but idk. I love Beelow, definitely a legend, but yeah the GBB - especially these last 3-4 years have just taken over. All respect, but I definitely think he dropped the ball in regards to developing that into something great. The GBB is the premier battle competition now. The production is better, the camera quality is better, the sound is better, and - most importantly I think - Beelow copyright striking reaction channels is/was a HUGE mistake. Hate them or love them, reaction videos introduce beatboxing to an entirely new audience that wouldn't have known about it beforehand. The World Championship has some of the best examples of beatboxing (because it was the most important competition for over a decade) and no one is seeing it because Beelow won't allow people to react to it which is stopping people outside of beatboxing to see it. If you want in example, the FINALS (B-Art vs Alexinho) has 500k views. GBB2019 Finals? 10 Million. GBB2018 Finals? 13 Million. GBB2017 Finals? 13 Million. And now its too late. Swissbeatbox has SOARED in popularity (3 million subscribers!!!) and Beelows channel isn't even at a million. Sorry for the rant, it just frustrates me.

Yeeeooooo! Try MB14 vs B-Art 2019! You’ll see a lot more technicality from both of them and it’s an insane battle from both sides!
@matthiasm75954 жыл бұрын
Look at B-art vs MB14. B-art being the third place 2019 and MB14 being an absolute legend

If I could put it simple for the bass TOMAZACRE has a unique bass Called “demon bass” and D-LOW he has an insane inward bass as heard and beatboxing is a combination of sound and other techniques I can’t fully explain but it’s really awesome I’m only a beginner but it’s all around pretty fun too don’t take my word for the explanation of beatbox it’s just what I have learned so far

Yes ur right. I am learning beatboxing for almost half a year now but I am so deep in it that I know so much stuff xD Tomazacre uses a unique inward bass and growl/vibration bass. THe more "bubbly" one is his vibration bass/growl I think and his really agressive one is his inward bass
